VIDEOWIZARD'S PROFILE

I've been at making games for RPG Maker for almost 20 years! No, they're not ALL Dragon Kingdoms games, just most of 'em.

Going to add another gameplay shot...IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF! (In his best old rich man impression) ;D

{screen}
See! I'm finally done the menus so it's all gameplay now. Hopefully I can make that promise of a Augest 24th Release. That would be sweet!

Can't wait to show you the gameplay movie by the end of the month. ;D

It's spelled August, like one of our staff members, first off. And why are the commands PlayStation buttons?

And I have a screen:

Final Fantasy XIII coming to... 360 and PS3 simultaneously

Well, I guess FFXIII isn't going to be to PS3 as FFVII was to PSOne, and FFX to PS2. I think PS3 may well be the GameCube of this generation. Not poor enough to completely stop sales, but not good enough to get very many games.

At least now I know I don't have to buy another system to play FFXIII, should I decide to. I already skipped FFXII however.

Steampunk the RPG? It isn't often I see games that look like they're based around the 1920s or later (to modern day, I've seen futuristic ones). Most RPGs are either medieval or futuristic. 8)

I fourth the notion.

Square-enix.. No more creative games!

The impression I've always had is that Enix was more of a producer and publisher than a developer--they're like EA, to use an American equivalent. I'm sure they have oversight on the titles, but they don't make them, and pretty much every "Great Enix Game" you can name was made by someone else, like Quintet (Soul Blazer trilogy, Robotrek), tri-Ace(Star Ocean series, Valkyrie Profile series), or Almanic(EVO).

I wonder how big tri-Ace is, though. I guess the games could have the tri-Ace logo with a small "Distributed by Square-Enix" on the back. Quintet hasn't made a game since 2005, and I'm not sure about Almanic.

Square-enix.. No more creative games!

Perhaps Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, among others, could be under the Squaresoft label again? I mean, they used it when they were merged before. (Remember Square EA?)

And, of course, Dragon Quest, Valkyrie Profile, and Star Ocean could go under the Enix label. Technically, of course, they're all the same company, but that might ease people's feelings a bit.

And, besides that, a few games early in 2003 used the Squaresoft label with a Square-Enix byline, IIRC. I think Final Fantasy Origins did.

In fact, I propose this:
Taito - Arcade classics and the Lufia series. If that ever gets going again, that is.
Enix- Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest Monsters and other spinoffs, Valkyrie Profile, Star Ocean, and past classics like the ActRaiser and Soul Blazer series.
Squaresoft- Mana series, Chrono series, Final Fantasy, Parasite Eve, Front Mission, Romancing Saga, Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You, in addition to past NES, SNES, and PSOne titles.

Besides, I miss the purple or green or blue Enix logo, and the stylized SquareSoft logo of the 90s and early 00s. Their current logo is too much like the 80s Square for my liking.

Solar Tear Demo 2 v0.9

Edit: So far I'm really not liking the gameplay, the maps while detailed are really confusing on the eyes on where to go, the crates and stairs just BLEND in too much! Also the walk speed is super slow and annoying. Not to mention the battles are super hard especially when half the time I'm either poisoned or bleeding and have to apply healing items more than attacking.

What the... Are you future posting, Darken?
And so this isn't completely off-topic, happy belated birthday, Mr.Nemo. I'd play this if my RM2k3 didn't have the SUPER BOLD text problem going on. It seems like it's been like that since I installed RMVX.

Seems the quote had an extra 9 in it for the date. On that note, setting it to 1 makes it December 31, 1969. Strange.

LISTEN UP! Some suggestions.

A variant on that.
RMN- Because it's TOO DAMN HOT outside!

And in winter:
RMN- Because it's dicksicle weather out there.

And another:
RMN- Not to be confused with RMVX.

So maybe we should lower our standards a tad.

I knew it. I wasn't lying when I left GW in 2006 that 'Dragon Kingdoms V' isn't their kind of game. I got a good laugh at the Chosen One defeating the Ultimate Evil, Against All Odds. And you collect shards instead of crystals, hardly a difference.

Of course, considering what type of games are their kind of games, this may not be a bad thing. After all, these "plain vanilla" games are actually quite rare these days.

With the patch, the editors now work. About the maps, I have to wonder why you thought using .BMP was a good idea? We could get a LOT more maps in if you used .PNG, for example. And why does the music cut out when attacking?

Yeah, i tried playing this in vista and it worked for a while but then my computer froze and it took me a while to start it back up. I learnt my lesson. ;)

Wait a minute, you got it, as in the editors, to work? (Even if only for a little while) Sometimes, using more resources than the computer can handle OR shoddy programming- RMXP has frozen up the computer before- causes freeze ups. This is really interesting.

It sounds more like the creator didn't even test RPG Studio on Vista, which is a major no-no in computer product development.

I got the sample game to work. It is very heavily anime-influenced. Snout-face and all. And that is a long intro. Three minutes and still going!

It finally ended. Five minutes for an intro to an MMO? Wow. Thankfully, you only have to watch it once.

And Super Mario Land music to boot? I wasn't expecting that. Just fix the double backslash issue (\\BIN, Vista doesn't allow backslashes in folder names, which I have a feeling is the problem), and the editors will probably open, too!

So, the sample games apparently DO work, if you uncheck the box you aren't supposed to. You'll get server error dialogs, but hit enter and they should go away.
