FLYINGJESTER'S PROFILE
I am the Jester.
I make games using JavaScript, C, C++, Mercury, Java, Assembly (amd64 and UltraSparc) and Python. I used to use Sphere a lot, but I'm more into C/C++ and Mercury nowadays. I still use JavaScript and embed it sometimes, and I usually use Python for build systems and system management.
I wrote TurboSphere, which is a recreation of the Sphere Game Engine with a number of major improvements. I'm not really working on it anymore.
I'm surely going to finish making a game someday. I mean, sooner or later, it's bound to happen. Right?

All Hallows' Event
Calm down, no one is trying to disparage you. If it helps, don't listen to feedback as if any of it is a specific person talking, but think of it like a hum that gives you a general idea of your games reception.
And if you make something that is ill received, then (if you want to make something great) simply try again. In the game of game making you get as many tries as you want, for as long as you want.

Oh come on, you can beat Unwelcome guest! Have you ever tried the Escape series flash games? I made sure it was easier than that...but maybe only a little.

I think in 2016, we actually may see the beginnings of a genuine third party (or a replacement 2nd party).
I heard something like that in 2004. And in 2008, too. I'd love it to be true, though.
RM2k3 and Windows 8
I've used windows 8. Memory usage and overall speed is almost identical to 7.
Also, FS journalling is still out to lunch. There aren't really any technical reasons I've seen yet to switch.

I am a robot. I cannot be reasoned with. Bleep. What is love?
Answer: Love is the act of shooting a targets kneecaps at 45 meters.

Gem is a metafile, too. Hybrid vector and procedural graphics. It didn't predate Win3.1, it was used in GEM (A series of GEM drawing instructions), which competed with Win3.1.
Wine tells me this may run in dosbox (which would make sense, GEM only ran on top of Dos): http://www.retroarchive.org/cpm/archive/unofficial/download/draw.zip

What areas of RPG making really hinder your project?
What areas of RPG making really hinder your project?
author=LockeZauthor=FlyingJesterMan, I feel the opposite. When I'm starting a project, I open up RPG Maker and there's no game to work on, so I just kind of... don't work on a game.
That, and I dislike adding content. Constructing systems is much, much more fun for me.
That's a lot like how I feel when the systems are done. I have a battle system, a map engine, everything built...but no content to speak of. And then I get tired of the test screen, and nine times out of ten I just package up the scripts to use later.
At least it leaves me with a lot of reusable scripts.
