FLYINGJESTER'S PROFILE

I am the Jester.

I make games using JavaScript, C, C++, Mercury, Java, Assembly (amd64 and UltraSparc) and Python. I used to use Sphere a lot, but I'm more into C/C++ and Mercury nowadays. I still use JavaScript and embed it sometimes, and I usually use Python for build systems and system management.

I wrote TurboSphere, which is a recreation of the Sphere Game Engine with a number of major improvements. I'm not really working on it anymore.

I'm surely going to finish making a game someday. I mean, sooner or later, it's bound to happen. Right?

[Poll] Which is more important: Story, Graphics, or Sound?

I can ignore bad graphics or sound (I can actually forgive no sound at all). I can also go along with no story. But if the story is bad, then it just kills the game for me. Unless it's really unobtrusive, because then I can just ignore it altogether.

Also, 'thou' was not used instead of 'you'. Saying 'thou' was a sign of familiarity or casualness (or possibly in a demeaning way). 'You' was the more polite word.

It's not illegal. You're allowed to recreate APIs (or even ABIs) as long as the solution shares no code with the original executables, and (depending on jurisdiction) you've never seen inside the original executables.

Believe me, I fought a very similar battle once.

As a (so-called prospective android dev) I prefer svn to github.

SourceForge is also very cool!

All Hallows' Event

You're completely ignoring the genius of the joke!

All Hallows' Event

A duck walks into a pharmacy, and says 'I need something for my beak, it's very chapped.
The pharmacist says, 'we have nothing for ducks here'.

Darkness would be good. I didn't know it was nighttime just by looking at it. Making the shadows softer would also help, those shadows look like they're being cast by a very bright sun.

Podcast idea.

If you ever need someone who knows about the guts of game engines, I guess I could help there, too.

Podcast idea.

Either way, I like this idea. I'd listen/watch.

Well, if you are disappointed in the new versions of RPG Maker, there are other RPG making engines available. And some are free, so there's no reason not to at least try them.
