Final Fantasy 6 Remake!
figaro castle
Yeah, the difference in resolutions, graphic styles, proportions; all comes together to make of that screen a very facepalm-worthy one...
That being said, I actually like the new character portraits. They're not better than Amano's artwork, but they're pretty and seem to be more fitting to overall aesthetics of this particular port. But still, the charas don't match the character's design and that is a bummer. =/
Game elements you haven't seen before, but want to
^ I guess that's an idea many of us have thought about, but the difficult part is how to make it interesting enough to support an entire game. At the end of the day, slaying dragons is much more appealing that giving sermons; That's why this kind of stuff is often more fitting for mini-games or for other genre of games completely. For example, you concert idea made me think of the game PaRappa the Rapper. But involving music in battles is probably more adequate for a fast-paced interface rather than a turn-based one. And if you go that route, you'll probably end up with a rhythm game before you realize it. (Not that there's anything wrong with that) =P
Btw, have you played The Logomancer? I believe is kinda like what you want, but I haven't tried it myself so I can't tell if it's any good...

RMN Pixel Quilt
It would have been upsetting it the submarine was not resolved like that. The transition between the black and the lava was too sudden.
Anyway, I'll try my luck with A3 (or "AE" get it? get it?) ...Uh, I'll edit when I'm done. -_-;
Edit: I like turtles!

Pom Gets Wi-Fi Review
Except that those games are intellectually charming, whereas this game get's it's "charm" by using retarded meme talk. Big difference.
I don't know. This game has it's moments too. Besides the ending, my favorite part is when you have to collect stuff from other dogs. That's a very subtle, yet painfully literal way of showing that in order to overcome obstacles in life you need the help of those around you. Sure, it's no life-changing epiphany, but it's a nice, charming detail that complements the overarching narrative of the game. Which is something that should be taken into account when judging the writing/storytelling department of the same... I guess the real problem is that many people, both in pro or against, get too distracted by the silly humor to notice these things.

I have to admit that the format of this review is kind of clever and you make some good, albeit obvious points. But really, if you have a problem with the people who nominated this game for nearly every category, or with the Misaos system in general, or with some of the most favorable reviews for this game, just take it to them. You don't have to drag down this game's score because of that. And there's no chance in hell this deserves a 0, or .5 which is the lowest you were able to rate it. Doing so just comes across as petty, specially in light of such language like: "this game is utter trash" which goes a bit beyond simply being an "opinion".
Besides, it's a short game. There's only so much characterization and storytelling that you can cram into a 30 minutes experience, and this game did a fairly good job at it. Objectively speaking you should not judge a short game any different than some 60 hour long epic RPG, because you'd be punishing the short game in almost every way just on virtue of it being short... If you're ever so inclined to acknowledge the difference of leagues, just deduct some points away from the score that you think is fair for the game's scope, or just give an N/A in the areas you think are lacking the most, so they don't affect the score in a significant way.
...I know all of this is going in deaf ears, but it's worth a shot.

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Stats
You're probably going to hate me for this, but what if the site stats get their own spot under the community section or something? In there they could get updated every month as usual (or even every day???), and people could check them out anytime without the kind of fuss this thread generates. I mean, month after month we get a new thread, a new silly pun, and things play out exactly the same: "I must post more/get more makerscore to reach such place/beat such person, etc." ...It's kind of old. xP
What are you jamming to?
worldnew1.png
Yeah, this a nice map. For a moment there I even thought you had actually scanned this, and that that was your own hand-writing. ...The only thing I didn't quite like is that the forests and mountains seem to follow no rhyme or reason. They look like they were added mostly as a filler, specially in the continent at the bottom; but either way, the overall map design look great.
The_Haunted_World_Screenshot_Hallway.png
It's a nice start. But besides adding a little more detail to the map, try making that hallway a bit narrower too. How many people can usually walk down a hallway side-by-side? 4? 5? Try to think "small" when mapping interiors, as the results are often more pleasant the less empty space there is on the screen... Also, try to avoid using "pillow-shading" for your tiles, and if you're going to use a dark outline for your charas you should give everything else the same outline so it doesn't look like you're mixing styles.
Btw, I like the art a lot. It's a bit of a mix between comic and manga. It'd be interesting seeing the entire game following this direction.

What elements from existing games would you like to see reused?
I haven't read the entire thread so I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but... The ability to travel around the world (the real world - our world) and learn about different places/cultures, and talking to plants/animals, Legend of Gaia/Terranigma style! Seriously, I don't know why there isn't more of this stuff in mainstream games. ...If I ever finish Nightfall it's going to have all of these things and more!
Also, CT's double/triple techs, FF8 Junctioning, LoD Additions, VS target sphere, and a long list of things I can't remember right now.
