Puppet Heroes

That's silly. That's like saying that digital art is not "real" art because you can just open a program, press some buttons and Bam! Instant art! Sure, we can't say it's 'coding', but I think it fits the bill to say it's 'programming'. It still takes time and effort (and thus money), and that makes it pretty real, if you ask me... And last but not least, it is still capable of creating good games.

Also, just because someone chooses to do something for free on their spare time, it doesn't mean others don't have the option to sell it.

Gee, no wonder why rpg maker games are not taken seriously even when they're good, if even WE don't value the work behind them. xD

Puppet Heroes

I remember Exodus Ex-Tournament, it was pretty cool for its time (We're talking early 2000's here. Anyone who could make a side-view battle system back then was worshiped as a God). That being said, I'm not sure of how honest it is of you to launch this campaign using footage of a 10 year old amateur game. I guess it shows that you have actual aptitudes for game development, but if you want to be taken seriously, you should wait until you have more current, original content to show...

[Poll] PS4 being manufactured with child slave labor

Was this a deliberate decision designed to undercut the Xbox One?
...and look like the "good guy" by offering their console cheaper than the Xbox One.
The internet collectively blew a gasket over the Xbox One...

Whew! For a moment you almost made it sound like you're mad at something else and couldn't really care for the "blood of children". ;)

[Poll] What do you think about multiple endings?

As much as I love Chrono Trigger, it only had a couple of legitimate alternate endings. Other where more like little What-if scenarios -like Frog beating Magus- that were nice on their own, but not really rewarding as endings. The rest were just lame, like the one that just shows a Nu sleeping while the credits roll... Thankfully, you only have to beat the game twice to see them all.

One kind of multiple endings that I dislike comes from the Star Ocean series. Besides the regular ending that you get to see every time, they just throw in additional cut-scenes with the characters with the highest compatibility. This kind of multiple ending doesn't really encourages you to play the game multiple times, since you'd need a guide to keep track of all the variables that affect your character's affection levels. And there are gazillions of combinations, all equally as boring as the one you already saw anyway.

Coming to think of it, I don't think I've ever played a videogame which different endings really added to their "overarching narrative". =/

Final Fantasy 6 Remake!

Well, I can't be too bothered by this since I already own and treasure my copy of the original (Well, the GBA version, but close enough) and I don't play mobile games, so meh! ...But, I'd just wish they stayed closer to Yoshitaka Amano's designs now that they can. I saw some screenshots of FF5 for mobile devices, and is kind of grating to see Leena's appearance change so drastically from her portrait to her sprite. They have no excuse to do that now that they have to re-draw everything in Hi-res. xP

Oooh, shiny! *_* ...I like this map. You went a bit overboard with the placement of plants and stuff, but the result is actually pretty good. Just be careful when placing stuff that could hamper the player's movement. (Rocks, Tree trunks, etc.)

Aside from that I'd change two things: I'd make that tree on the middle a bit bigger if it is supposed to be important. And I'd change the colors of the background for some slightly more vibrant ones, so they match the colors of your tiles.

Nominating Commercial Games for Misaos

author=kentona
I can look into adding a "Best Commercial Game Demo" misao, I suppose... Actually, no, I will stick to No Commercial Games...

And here I was going to applaud your thoughtfulness for once, but nooo... You've just earned the next jab I send your way, Mister. :|

Nominating Commercial Games for Misaos

The only 'true' reason I see for not allowing commercial games to enter the Misaos is simply that RMN doesn't really allow those games here. Commercial game profiles are just a form of free advertisement. ;P

The way I see it, the point of a contest like the Misaos is that anyone can download and play the nominated games in order to guarantee promote a fair vote, but this is obviously not possible with commercial games. If we were to allow them, most, if not all nominations/votes would come from outsider, one-time users, and that is something we don't need (except for the traffic, maybe?). Actually, I think that's already an issue with the current Misaos, but we don't need to make it worse.

That being said, "Best commercial demo" is something that we could do. Let's stop thinking of "free vs commercial" in such visceral way.

The Screenshot Topic Returns

I would have preferred for Piper to have an eye-patch or a hat, since she doesn't look any more like a pirate that any other person from that time, maybe? If I didn't know any better, I would have thought she was a musketeer or something... Karson, in the other hand, doesn't really needs a crown (Although, it seems to suit him well) since the horsie and lance already say "knight". =P
