VIDEOWIZARD'S PROFILE

I've been at making games for RPG Maker for almost 20 years! No, they're not ALL Dragon Kingdoms games, just most of 'em.

RMN Closing Down April 2nd

They'll probably go back to Queen's Court (FinalDragon's site), like they were from 2004-2007.

RMN Closing Down April 2nd

Maybe there could be a last Release Something or Befuddle Quest before RMN closes down. But, I know, what are the chances of that? The good old days when we released stuff just for the heck of it, or when we solved puzzles or tried to. Oh, well.

EDIT: Necrile, that's taking it a bit too far, I think. Plus that's a SCARY image that I fear may actually happen in January 2013.

Start You At Level 35 and Reset You to Level 1

author=Billwilliams
This is probably cruel and unusual but...

What if you had a player start at a high level. Then slowly lose levels (say they have a disease or a curse) until at the mid point of the game the player is extremely weak (Lvl 1). The key point of gameplay being that the player must be careful against enemies that they mopped the floor with earlier.

Afterwards the player is cured, regains their former strength and must take revenge on the big baddie.

Dragon Quest VI may not start you at a high level, but you might reach a high level and get a lot of skills and spells by the time you've explored three worlds... and then get down to LV 1, 1 HP and 0 MP for ALL characters as soon as you enter the final world. IIRC, those effects last for quite some time.

A better example is Lufia and the Fortress of Doom. Your characters start in the 70s for levels and know every skill and spell that can be learned, and are even in the final dungeon. Then some things happen (explained better in Lufia II), and you start the REAL quest, with one character at level 1, and one spell.

CSS'ing your RMN Game Profile

wreelance friter, er, freelance writer.

Seriously, though, how did a tutorial about CSS'ing your gameprofile turn into this?

Oxtongue Heroes

Interesting choice of character names for this project. It's the 2007/2013 Atlantic Hurricane Season list with some retired names (Hugo in 1989, Luis, Opal and Roxanne in 1995, Allison in 2001). Too many of them are similar for it to be a coincidence.

w Review

Wow, it gets better 20 hours into it? Very few RPG Maker games are even 20 hours long! That's like playing through an entire 0.5 or 1 star RPG Maker game (or, more likely, ten of them) before getting to the good part.

Have you considered cutting out the first 20 hours of the game and just giving us the highlights (if there are any)?

The RMN Comic Collaboration - Act 2

We're on Chaos, or done beginning if he doesn't finish start the comic.
Going backwards is kinda confusing.

I just ate a bagel. So I took three screen shots of it.

I think what Ciel is trying to say is the status bars aren't pixelated enough. The HP bar could be slightly pixelated, maybe like Bleu/Deis's tail is (same colors). The AP bar could look similar. The fonts are way too defined for a SNES game. This is one time where anti-aliasing is NOT your friend. Remember, this game came from the (late) 16-bit era.

I've actually been playing Breath of Fire II ever since this game first showed up on RMN. It looks like Ryu is just below Colossea/Coursair. The question I have now is, will there be a Caterpillar system? It just wouldn't be BoF2 without it.

The RMN Comic Collaboration - Act 2

We're on the second to first page, or first page if Erilex finishes. Yep, it comes down to Erilex and Chaos to finish start this.
