VIDEOWIZARD'S PROFILE

I've been at making games for RPG Maker for almost 20 years! No, they're not ALL Dragon Kingdoms games, just most of 'em.

Actually, RPG Maker Super Dante and Super Dante 2 are*, and RPG Maker GB, GB2, Advance, DS and DS Plus are on Nintendo systems.

*They're technically Super Famicom games, but they run on SNES9x, so...

The point of this is it looks like an SNES game, or in other words, WHOOSH!

(Also, to Nick, hooray, fellow Left Coaster! That's what, three RPG creators stuck in Florida? It seems like this game is going quite well.)

Super Luigi World (2018)

Hope so, it'd be a shame to have two okay Mario games taken off of RMN due to not following the submission guidelines of not constantly updating to be on the front page.

Set backs, oh set backs...

You sound like me when my computer died four years ago (except for the Canadian part). It happened so suddenly, that I have only one screenshot of that version. Luckily I backed up files a couple months prior, but still.

Kobra's Realm/Corner creator arrested for hacking

This news just stuns me. In fact, when I first heard about it, I wondered "Is this the same Kobra that runs Kobra's Realm?" Turns out it was.

Basically, Kobra got into trouble with the law for hacking the Tampa Bay Infragard website, posted about doing it, and then 15 other people proceeded to do the same.

This state is really embarrassing, although in this case, it could happen anywhere. As for Kobra himself, I imagine there will be plenty of free time to make RPG Maker 2003 and XP games behind bars (although he's only under regional arrest- free but only in a certain area, it's possible he could get up to FIVE YEARS).

What was your game supposed to be?

Actually, RPG Maker 2003 was released late in 2002, but anyway.

The first four Dragon Kingdoms games are exactly as I meant them to be. Yeah, I didn't exactly aim for the stars, and it shows :\ However, this changed when I saw other RPG Maker games actually going places. Brandon Abley at one point (I think circa 2001) wondered what was the point of having a then-invisible series around. You guessed it, Dragon Kingdoms IV was originally even worse than the one now up on RMN.

While the Great Change (too much Captain SNES?) was a bit too late for DKIV, it came just in time for Dragon Kingdoms V. The series went from almost no ambition to almost being TOO ambitious. There were to be several optional areas, but they either were unfinished (originally the arena and the Greenland-like continent were supposed to have a lot more to them) or not even started. You were even supposed to go underwater at some point!

Did this all pay off? Well, I think it has. Maybe someday I'll even have an average-rated game ;) There's still room for improvement, of course, and I'm still making changes/adjustments whenever I get time.

Forever's End Review

We're (past) peak-Final Fantasy, and now one of the highest (if not the highest) profile games on RMN got the same score as this? A game that's probably right down there with the notoriously bad games that have already been mentioned. (I even admit it!) That's... shocking to say the least.

I need to make new sprites and also figure out how to scale objects (the player, monsters, NPCs) for distance. And before anyone gets nervous about it being yet another new version, this screen is actually using part of the map I made this winter. So it's not wasted.

Stencyl has launched

Well, Stencyl isn't really there yet, unless you want to do a really basic game. You can make a Mario-type game (but SMBX and Super Mario 63 are for that), or a Zelda-type game, which only lets you slash enemies and bushes. It isn't yet possible to do RPGs (use RPG Maker, any version).

So yeah, disappointing is the word.

What's the new Featured Game?

It's June 1st where I'm standing. Or are we running May's until RMN4 is released this week?
