Illusions of Loyalty Review

Hey, cool review format! If I were to write reviews and weren't so damn lazy, my reviews would probably look kinda like this... I don't agree with everything you say, though, and the adding/subtracting of points feels rather arbitrary at times. But it's a very nice effort on your part to write a review that attempts to be as thorough as a review should be. =)

Just one question: Why are graphics only worth 10% of the score when everything else is worth 30%? That seems a bit biased. =/

Illusions of Loyalty

Well, I could... But I find pixel-art to be way too tedious to try to make anything as complicated as portrait art. (Never again!) xP

I might want to ask you about editing a faceset for the next game, then. XD

Oh, hey! Sorry for the late reply, I have been kind of absent lately-- But yeah, totally. If you have anything in mind just PM me the pertinent information and I'll send you back some sketches as soon as I'm able. Slowly but surely, I can pull some semi-decent art. xD ...Check the face-sets of this project :Link: if you want to have an idea of my 'abilities' xP

What are you jamming to?

Accepting Criticism

I think my post above is clear enough, but just to reiterate: I'm not saying the guy is without fault. It's evident that as the thread progresses he starts making bolder and bolder assumptions to the point of coming across as a complete troll by the end of it (Macross image and all, even when that's against the rules) And people is right to challenge his behavior, but not by making bold assumptions of their own! I don't know, that's just feels like poor form... (Also, I'd like to wager that anyone in his position would have lost control too)

That being said, for the first two-three posts he made, I think it's easy to understand where he's coming from. And not only that, but I'm even wondering if English is his first language because he seems to word things rather awkwardly. So I'd be a little more extra willing to dismiss the first times he misspoke as simple semantics and try to work things out... but alas, drama unsued. =P

Tiny misunderstanding there. =P I was referring to Corfaisus' review, not Cashmere's. All said and done, I'm cool with Cashmere's review.

Also, I agree, there's not "right" and "wrong", but there's "better" and "worse". All I want is for people to do better and not just settle for the "minimum requirements". Specially because, we're not (just) "laymen", we're (also) "developers". We understand what's behind creating a game. So I don't get why some people insist on putting on a "casual gamer" persona to write reviews. =/

Deleted Review

Yeah, this review looks bad. But really, I don't think it's any more biased than the other review that gives the game a poor score, fails to address its merits, and was born from a sentiment of "Screw this, I'm jumping in". So if this one gets what it's essentially an ultimatum and some kind of action is taken because of it, I feel that same fate should be shared by the other review...

Frankly, I just think it's sad this happens everytime. Rather than to find common ground as a community, people run off to write their own one-sided reviews, because, two wrongs make a right or something. I don't know. You guys are weird.
