What are you thinking about right now?
I'm thinking about waffles. What are they? Are they any good? Should I buy the waffle maker I saw at the store the other day? Mmmh...
Edit: Talking about syrup. I can't find Mapple syrup anywhere in my country. Only some "maple-flavored" flavorless stuff. Yuck! xP

Let me reiterate that it's not "JUST judging by the title" but "ALSO judging by the title" I don't know why you keep doing that. xD ...And of course, judging the entirety of a game from any three screenshots is going to be a gamble. Under those circumstances each one of those screens becomes a "cover" on its own right. But you have to be able to make this kind of judgement calls; a call that is equal parts and objective assessment of what you can see, and a vote of confidence that what you can't see will be just as good.
The problem here, I believe, is seeing title screens as the literal "covers" of the games. A tiny part of the whole, fixed at the very beginning never to be seen again; But that would be a shallow mistake. Again, it's about thinking what design choices went into the creation of any given screenshot and extrapolate how those choices could resonate during the rest of the "actual" game.
@Puddor: Mmmh. That sounds like a good rationale at first. But the purpose of game profiles is, as I see it, for people to follow the progress of your game; for them to take part of the development process. And not just to enjoy the finished product... If I subscribe to a game is because I like the premise of the game, or because I trust the "vision" of the developer. Therefore, in this particular case, I think a game's "playable content" is second to its overall artistic direction. Something even a title screen can contribute to.

But anyway, I'll leave this on the air, maybe it will catch on someday. xD

I would identify as a 'Gamer' except that I don't hate women, so I guess I am not a 'real' gamer.

Honestly, before we can work on anything together we need to actually rid society of the stupidity that is hating other people...
Yeah, I think this is at the very core of all our problems. Not just people 'hating' on other people, but people treating other people differently. Period. Some people treat others worse, some treat others better. Some do it because of their race or gender, some do it because of their politics. And yeah, I suppose we'll never get fully rid of it... I suggest we all crawl into a hole, curl into a ball, and die. (Haha! That's another lame joke for the collection. xP)

Sorry to be a nag (As if! xD) I'm aware this is old and such a non-issue, but this has been poking at my sides for some time now...
All I want to ask is: Who is "WE"? And why we "CANNOT"? Because, I feel -I- could do that. I feel LockeZ could do that. Nessiah could do that. Pizza could do that. Melkino could do that. TFT could do that. and a whole bunch of us could do that. I mean, maybe not be able to discern the qualities of a game and/or developer from a title screen ONLY, but from a title screen ALSO.
I just don't understand how tittle screens are suddenly and quite arbitrarily the lepers of the screenshot world. Specially here of all places, a community devoted to game design! To the scrutiny and over-analysis of all things game related! ...And I'm just supposed to believe that the design choices that can go in the creation of a tittle screen are superfluous? unquantifiable?
So rather than "We cannot" that sounds to me more like a "YOU don't WANT to" and that's a bit sad... That's a general 'you' btw. =)

We quality check games via a description and three screenshots. How are we supposed to do that if someone uses a menu system, a title screen and a game over screen? We cannot.

Talking about peet-peeves and stereotypes. Yeah... I understand that a status post (or anywhere on rmn, really xD) are probably not the right places to look for thoughtful conversation only -sometimes people just want to vent a little or engage in some small talk- but it is somewhat of my concern that some of you can express opinions so biased, so one-sided, so black and white...
I'm not a "gamergate-r" so I'm not here to defend the movement, but I think we could all benefit from gaining a broader perspective of it, beginning by stop dismissing it under the unison of: "misogyny, misogyny!". If not only because not each one of its members can be a bigot by association, specially since many of them are women and members of various minorities (who often times are the targets of unscrupulous remarks themselves) But because we would be throwing ourselves under the bus in the long run...
It is unfortunate to see gamergate gaining such momentum having as its roots the alleged 'sexcapdes' of a female game developer, but it is also unfortunate having to forfeit that momentum because of it... Even if another movement where to come out of this -"Ethica" as Liberty suggest we call it- there would be threats there too, and there will be little to nothing we could do to stop it. And then the media would pick that bone and run with it, and we would have to forfeit that movement as well. And the next after that, and the next after that. Just like every other concern regarding game journalism was drowned amidst similar drama even before gamergate.
So, to reiterate my point. If this is really a "war" like some people claim it is. let's win that war inside each one of us first. Be fair, be understanding, be a bunch of other nice-sounding words... Let me propose all of you an exercise. Go read a bunch of article about gamergate coming from both sides. If you're able to spot the bias, catch the buzzwords and logical fallacies in all of them, then you're fine. You, my friend, are the future of gaming, and I have my entire faith put in you. And if you can't... welp! =/

Is there a way to know who subscribes to your work?
lol The solution to this 'problem' (like with every other topic of this nature) was suggested from moment one, but it was not even given the time of the day. I can't really blame anyone, though. I guess it's way more fun to argue the more radical aspects of any idea... But to reiterate: Allow people to check a box to remain anonymous if they so desire, and let the rest satisfy their curiosity in peace. It's -exactly- like with the option to see who it's currently reading the forums. People didn't want that either, but it was done nonetheless, and the site didn't crumble under it's own weight. All some of us had to do was check a box and the world kept on spinning as usual.
About it not being 'important' information and whatnot; sure, but so is every monthly stat topic. Who the hell cares who has the longest post-count in any give month, anyway? ...Uh. You all do, apparently. So I guess you can also understand why knowing who subscribes to what games is information that some people may want to know. Information some may even find useful. Because there's nothing stopping this from being in benefit of both subscriber AND developer - nothing but our own prejudices, of course.
Edit: In, out, both are the same thing for all intents an purposes. But if the principle matters that much, sure. Opt-out anonymity then.

Games like lunar?
Exactly like Lunar, maybe not. But check everything by Indra & company, for small epic stories with funny characters and whatnot.

This is exactly what Experience, Levels, and titles/jobs are for, so I don't really understand what is what you want us to help you with...
But let's say that from levels 0 to 10 you're an apprentice. You can take jobs only from one of the houses in town: the one that is taking you in (duh!). And every job can only neat you experience. But in exchange you can rest for free at any time to restore stamina and whatnot.
From levels 10 to 20 you become a wanderer. Now you can go around town knocking on doors and taking random jobs, and every task you complete will earn you a little money as well. But you have to use that money wisely because you now have to pay for your own food/shelter... Also, you could take jobs from the local Guild to earn money quickly, but those jobs would be more difficult too.
From level 20 onwards and once you have enough money, you could buy the vacant house in town and set your own workshop. This will turn you into a "Master"... Now you could even take in your own apprentices. You could quite literally give them your experience. You could upgrade their skills, send them on errands, etc. Until you end up with zero experience yourself, and have to retire. =P
If this is your first game I recommend you keep things small. That's why my example is set in a single town as opposed to traveling from place to place. But if you believe you can do that instead, then go ahead.

FOUR STARS...for what ??
Well, the idea is for the fields that don't require an answer. (You'll still have to fill the ones that do require one) So if you want to just put an: "It's good" I guess you could do that. But if you also want to give an score to each of the game's department, this could be useful to justify your overall score; and so the game appears in search results by the criteria mentioned above.
Edit: Here's a mockup of how I think the form could/should look like at the end. (Link)

FOUR STARS...for what ??
...The story of my life.
Yeah, this new system looks nice. I have no complains (yet xD). The only thing I'd change is: since the areas dedicated to gameplay, writing, atmosphere?, don't require an answer. Why not require to at least put a number from 1 to 5 in the comment box, as if rating each department? Like I said before, this could be used to further police the situation; and perhaps we could even use those numbers to search games through those criteria: best gameplay, best writing, best music, etc.
