Well, I don't like the fact that everything has a black border, the dithering technique seems poor, or was the image automatically indexed by photoshop? I also think that the room it's too dark, it needs a better contrast balance... but other than that: wow! I admire all the effort put in it.

More than a clash or resolutions I think the issue here is a clash of videogame eras, Heh;

The zombies rather than looking just bright I think their cholor scheme differs much from the rest of the image, try to recolor them using similar color values as those from the background. The color of the blood also needs to match more the surface it's on. (skin, cloth, etc) And the gun... oh boy, it's that a straight rip? It looks too grainy and some pixels look "expanded". I think it needs a serious edit in order to match the rest.

That original sprite looks awesome, can't wait to see Ershin being re-drawn. Everything else sounds great too.
