So MV is currently on sale. Also...

Dang! That's just about what I could consider "affordable". Should I get it? ...It's not like I'll start making games all of a sudden. -_-

But I want it tho! Someone buy it for me. =(

So, they dropped the first Ghostbusters trailer.

It would be really cool (to me, anyway) if they made a Ghostbusters movie based on the cartoon rather than the old movies, since that's what I'm more familiar with. And it had a bunch of interesting stories too. Probably my favorite was the one involving that one troll-looking creature that lived in a dimension full of doors and could enter every kid's room in the world through their closet. That stuff blew my mind as a child... Or what about that episode with a good ghost dog that was being blamed for various shenanigans, but at the end sacrificed itself to help catch the real ghost responsible for all the trouble. I thought that was pretty noble. ;_;7

Discrimination within the narrative

It should be perfectly Ok to have a bigoted character in a story without having to call them out on it. Or rather, without conditioning their development to "character sees the error of their ways and stops being bigoted". A character can be just as interesting without it... Out of the top of my head I'm thinking of Merle from The Walking Dead. He's your stereotypical "redneck". He's staunchly racist, and an all around asshole. But this does not make him incapable of empathy or respect. He can still appreciate Michonne or Gleen ("POCs") at a personal level, and his love for his brother is genuine. At the end he redeems himself, but he probably still dies a bigot.

I don't meant to derail this thread or anything (Hey, I have to cover my bases. xD). This is more on response to what Piano said early. If people want to "self-censor" it should be only because they want to. It should be a conscious decision (at which point is not censorship anymore). But If they do it because they're afraid of some kind of backlash, then that's no good. Surely we agree.

The thing is, people are pushing a little to hard nowadays for this idea that you have some sort of 'responsibility' to avoid spreading "harmful messages" and whatnot. And that's nice and all, but I have to ask, who is your audience? 5 year olds? Do you really need to spell these things out to people? Why can't you just trust your audience to be able to tell apart right from wrong on their own? Is this what you want your story to be? A mouthpiece to broadcast your beliefs, and condemn those who don't align with them?

Hey, if that's what you want, I'd even say that's a perfectly valid thing to do. But that's not what everybody else may want from their stories. So maybe, don't be so judgmental when reading into these tropes and stuff? Most of the time those "messages" you see are not really there. And even if they are, it does not mean the author endorses them, or that audiences will adopt them...

Conker Is Back In Young Conker For The Microsoft HoloLens - And People Are Pi*sed!!!

lol Why Conker of all their IPs? They could have easily use Banjo for this and it would make a much better fit for the kind of thing they're after... But then again, I guess they would have to drastically change Kazzoie's personality as well since she was kind of a bully, and that's not the way we do things in "current year" (Assuming that's really the reason behind any changes).

Ultimately, it's their IP and they can do whatever with it. But people are free not to like it.

So, they dropped the first Ghostbusters trailer.

lol, apparently people should force themselves to support things they may not even enjoy because "identity politics"? Ok.

Anyway. I was never big on the Ghostbusters. Pretty much the only thing that I liked where the ghosts. And the special effects in this movie don't look too bad so I may watch it just for that. If I enjoyed Pixels I doubt this is going to disappoint me... This kind of humor that relies in silliness and awkwardness does not exactly make me go "haha", but then again, neither does most humor. I can understand people's complains about it though. I merely hope they saved the best (worst) bits of it for the trailer.

What are you thinking about right now?

I think that's the name she was always meant to have. It was "Fu-ra-i-ja" in the Japanese release. And I think it's an accepted variant of the original spelling. Still, they should name her "Freyja" already... This new release seems to restore "Amarant" back to "Salamander" too, so that's good. Sadly, it still keeps "Zidane", when "Jitan" sounds better. =/

What are you thinking about right now?

lol All I see is people stating a preference in the kind of media they'd consume. They probably could have worded their ideas a bit better (and you could use trying to interpret them less literally), but I assure you that's all that it is... Why this willingness to assume the worst out of others over what it's essentially a difference of opinion? I will never get that.

What are you thinking about right now?

Man, Jesus' introduction in TWD was a total letdown. I guess he's not going to be the martial arts god that he's in the comics (See what I did there? Jesus, God. ...No? Ok). In the comic he easily outmaneuvers both Abraham and Michonne who are no pushovers themselves. He sends flying kicks, he takes hostages, and even dodges bullets. And he only gives in after they call for Rick... In the show, however, he just plays tag with Rick and Daryl for a while, and they take him out easily. =/

Also, Rick and Michonne hooking up? I did not expect that. o_o

Demo version available

Hey there... having played the demo I can say the stealth sections make more sense to me now. I understand better how the character have to move around the enemies and stuff. In the video I didn't even notice that there were vision cones. In-game, however, it's not as lenient as I thought it was. In fact I found it a bit unfair how you can be spotted and shot at from outside the screen.

Another thing that bothered me a little were some "passability" issues. Sometimes trying to run away from the enemies I would get stuck behind things like signs or garbage. Things that at first you don't mind or notice until they screw with you. You should be able to knock over, kick, or walk past most of this stuff... It's silly when a cardboard box can stop you dead in your tracks.

Also, I remember this time I tried to sneak past an enemy by walking between a car and the back of a building but I couldn't, even when it looked like I could fit just fine. Then I realized you cannot walk behind anything... You should be able to walk behind things, like cars or fences, and specially poles. Including buildings, even if just by "one tile" in depth if you know what I mean.

Btw, I found a little exploit. I killed a bad guy as it was turning around a corner and the bad guy behind it had to push the corpse in order to get through. I killed a bunch of guys this way, as they were sitting ducks while they were pushing the corpses of their fallen comrades. I guess this is related to the same passability issues. Enemies should be able to just walk over the dead bodies.

The only other bit of criticism I can offer you is related to the cut-scene graphics. I don't know if they're place-holders or if you're after some kind of nostalgic 8-bit look, but the difference in resolution between the cut-scene graphics and the rest of the game's is a bit jarring.
