Final Fantasy XV

In all of the trailers for the game I've only seen 2 women and I'm not even certain those 2 will be playable.
One looks like a typical damsel in distress.
The other woman actually is kinda interesting she is a female version of Cid named Cidney. She's a car mechanic though so chances are she won't join your team she'll probably just repair the car. By the way, why is the first female Cid automatically downgraded from airship pilot (the usual Cid job) to car mechanic.

Final Fantasy XV

Let's have us a little chat about FFXV, old beans.

I do say I'm rather unsure how I should feel about this game.
I've played most of the games in the series you know but I find myself not being too excited. Which is odd since the open world looks amazing, the combat seems jolly good, and the fact that their re imagining the old Amano designs for some enemies is breathtaking if I may say so.
But here's what concerns me; what's with the samey looking characters? I find it rather perplexing considering how diverse FF casts have been in the past. Where's the summoner girls, the talking dogs, the wacky old men, and the spoony bards.
Perhaps the character designs are the way they are because of the mafia theme they seem to have givin XV. That too concerns me, you see I've watched my fair share of Mafia films and although I've enjoyed those I never thought: oh this would be perfect for Final Fantasy.
I do hope I'm worried about nothing old chaps. I do really wish for it to be a great game.

What are your thoughts on the new Final Fantasy?

I don't know why I just wanted to talk like a Britsh guy. I love that accent, hope I didn't offend anyone.

MAJOR Bug fix!

Everyone makes mistakes sometimes. So no need to whack yourself in the head. lol

Terranigma will blow your mind!

Yeah, they fill up as you progress. If you go to places before the story does there won't be anything there yet.

That's an odd design choice. They give you an option to go to Japan but there's literally nothing to do there yet. You would think there would at least be a treasure or something for attempting to go there early. Oh well, it's not a big deal still having fun with the game. Just find that odd is all.

[Poll] Final Fantasy Mages

I had to look up that Moogle Animist. Tactics Advanced introduced a lot of random stuff.

I'm surprised no one has yet picked Summoner. They look like if they were to run out of MP they could just stab you with their heads. lol

A gamer moment

I was digging the snow out of the sidewalk recently and a soda can popped out and I thought to myself hey I bet that's worth 50 points. lol

What happened to RMN's sexy blue background?

The pink was a nice touch for the holiday.

A new way to Review

Well if I remember correctly, the reason that some reviewer have moved away from numbers is because some people will just look at a number and not bother to read/listen to the review. So by giving it a more vague rating of Like It. The potential player might ask themselves: Why do they like it? And, therefore be more willing to read the review instead of judging a game simply by its number.
Pretty sure that's the logic behind it.
I do think many people do read the whole review but there are definitely some players who just judge something based on the number alone.

we support games in other languages than English and thus also reviews written in these languages. Numbers do have the benefit of being a universal language.

That's a very good point by the way I hadn't thought about that.

So Rayman is probably DLC in Smash

Who is Shantae? (also, who IS Shulk, anyway? I never heard of her before)

Toad, Simon Belmont, Master Higgins, Bomberman, or Captain N would be my votes for new DLC!

Shantae is a pretty well established game protagonist. She's been around since Gameboy Color. Plus they could use more female game stars in Smash.

As for Shulk if you've played Smash you must have seen him. Anyway I don't need to explain him since Feldschlacht already did.

Shulk is the protagonist of Xenoblade.

Seriously though Xenoblade is an amazing RPG. Plus, The people who made Xenoblade made Xenogears. And, the people who made Xenogears made Chrono Trigger. Which is why Lucca appears in the Xenogears.

Anyway, I agree with you on Bomberman. He'd be a great addition to the roster. Bomberman was one of my favorite NES games.

Also I'll be attempting Nsala Liberation after Touhou and We The People. Most likely it will be in between for Touhou since that is a massive game apparently. I think I'll actually be making a list in the OP to keep track.

Thanks Tyrano for giving my game a chance. :D

I liked the trippy perspective, and the general feel of the game. However, when you start to gain magic, you should have a "spellbook" (basically by this point, you've been given four or five controls, and the game starts to need a control manual so the player doesn't lose track that V is for this, C is for that, etc. You could even add entries as you unlock spells). I found myself fumbling with remembering the controls.

This was my main beef with the game, everything else was very charming, but being unable to reference previously mentioned controls was pretty much the big problem. Especially if a puzzle required you to do so.

Yeah you're playing my game! Thanks for the feedback. I should say though the Magic Menu is pretty much a spell book. When you put the cursor on a spell in the menu, you will see instructions on how to use that spell. For example, if you look at the Inua spell in the menu the text will say "Restores a bit of Life. (Press Y button (S for keyboard; 8 for gamepad)" The spells that don't show a button input are ones you just choose from the menu like the Furaha Dance.
To be fair I did not do this for the push command and the duck/slide command.
But, as far as I recall every time you need the push command a near by hint statue explains how to push objects.
For the duck/slide command I do expect people to remember that since it's used often enough, but should you forget, there is a convenient hint statue near the first warp point of the game that can explain basic commands like ducking and sliding.
Also, included in the game folder is a folder called Text in there you can find a basic controls manual.
All that being said I can see why you would want easier access to knowledge on how to duck and slide, so in a future update I'll probably just include Duck/Slide in the Magic Menu so that you can quickly check the button for it. The reason I did not do this before was because it's not really magic but if it will help players than I'll definitely take your advice.

Again thanks for playing you made me very happy today. :D
