French Cartoons are Awesome
I saw The Secret of Kells it's really good.
I've also seen a bit of Wakfu seemed pretty cool. Hopefully I'll have time to watch the whole thing at some point.
lol glad I don't drink coffee

Nsala Liberation Review
Thanks for the review I appreciate the positive stuff you mentioned.
As for the qualms you have with the gameplay, I'll address that here.
Quite a few challenges in the Savannah can seem mini game like because I wanted to provide players with many different challenges but the game becomes less minigame like once you reach one of the main dungeons. Each dungeon will challenge you to use a particular spell in a multi-roomed level similar to Zelda dungeons. In fact, my influences from Zelda is what made me want to give players many types of game play since those games have so many mechanics for players to learn.
As for the difficulty of certain challenges, I will message you privately to ask about specifics so that I may be able to balance the challenge more.
The "Call Clua" is meant to give general story quest directions. It's for when you forget what you are supposed to do next. That being said there is a way to mark your map with the exact locations of the emblems. A man named Tingtembo can do this for you, it sounds like you didn't meet him. He can be easily found in the jungle in Yoba Village. He's in the hut on the far side of the village. I made this optional because it makes finding the emblems way easier and I feel like many people would prefer to try and find them on their own. For example, my play tester told me he enjoyed exploring the Savannah.
So, I recommend you get your map marked you'll have an easier time that way.
I'm also willing to alter the Savannah a bit if you are willing to give me specifics on which areas you found most confusing.
I'll ask you in a private message which ones you experienced lag with and I will try to reduce the lag as best as I can.
I think much of the game is linear once you travel to places outside the Savannah. I created the Savannah because I felt the game was getting to linear.
Many games these days are criticized for linearity so I thought people would enjoy this vast area to explore.
I spent a lot of time in the update trying to make those segments easier for players but if you can give me specific examples of what you mean, I will try to address those.
Thank you for playing my game! If I can manage to resolve the issues you had with my game I hope you'll be willing to give it another try. I'm glad you got some enjoyment from my game but I'd like to make it an even more enjoyable experience for you.
P.S. If I decide to update the game it may be a while, since I am currently working on a new project. In the meantime I stand by the current version and I believe many people can enjoy it as is. I am always willing to improve but it's important to note that I have confidence in the current version of Nsala Liberation.
I do wish more developers would be willing to use cultures that haven't been greatly explored in this medium like this developer did- Kudos.
As for the qualms you have with the gameplay, I'll address that here.
The gameplay is based almost entirely around minigames. These minigames seem to often have cultural influences to them. However, these minigames can be incredibly difficult or incredibly easy.

Additionally, while searching for various emblems, it can be more trouble finding the minigames than playing them. Many of the minigames were fun, especially the ones that required reactionary thinking. The "Call Clua" spell and the map did very little to assist in finding the emblems. As such, I spent more time wandering around the mostly empty Savanna.

I experienced some lag in several minigames that made them nearly unplayable except on my more powerful desktop.

This game would have benefited from a more linear layout. The moment the game stopped being so linear, the game suffered.

Some of the evasion games, were also absurd.

French Cartoons are Awesome
The first French animation I ever saw was Fantastic Planet it's incredibly trippy.
Tales of the Night was very interesting it's about 3 people imagining stories that take place all around the world. It's the most recent French film I've seen.
My personal favorite is Kirikou and the Sorceress. It's about a talented baby named Kirikou who defends his village from an evil sorceress. It takes place in Africa.

I played your game. It was a lot of fun. I'm a bit confused about something though. I beat all the puzzles on the left room then entered the north room for a second but decided to explore the right room and did all the puzzles there. Had 3 pills total and made my way back to the center room in hopes of exploring what was in the north room but as soon as I got back to the center room my character chomped on the 3 pills and the game said I won the Demo. But what about the north room I didn't do anything there am I missing something?
Anyway as for the puzzles themselves,
the only puzzle I felt could have been better was the room full of springs it just seemed a bit to easy you just had to walk in a simple path to avoid them. perhaps if it were an early puzzle it'd be fine but it was after a far more challenging one from what I recall.
I'm nitpicking though so rest assured the majority of your puzzles were fun and very interesting. There were 2 puzzles in the north east area that took me a good while to do.
Oh almost forgot to ask, is there no save option in the game? Since it was short I guess it's fine but I still wish I could save. But maybe I just didn't figure out how to save.

Release Something XIII: Something Returns
I'm working on another African themed game but I'm not sure if I'll have a game page ready by Friday, I might but not sure. Should I still sign up? I've been wanting to participate in one of the events but so far haven't had time to. If I can't get the game page up in time I might at least try to contribute to giving feedback.
Every Final Fantasy Fan should see this Video
Glad you liked it. I was watching Final Fantasy stuff almost all day yesterday. I found a series of reviews that reviewed every game up to 8 it was interesting but I didn't want to overload the post with too many vids.
I hope Sakaguchi returns to making console games like Last Story he did seem willing to do so in that interview.

Every Final Fantasy Fan should see this Video
This is a video that takes a comical look at the history of Final Fantasy and the career of it's creator Hironobu Sakaguchi
And it actually stars Hironobu Sakaguchi
I watched that 3 times today.
If that's not enough Final Fantasy goodness for you check this video out.
It's an in depth look at Square's early history. There is a part 2 to the video but I'm sure you can find that without me posting it.
Also, if you want to see more of The Gooch. Check out this hour long interview with Sakaguchi.
