Unfinished RPGs
What RPGs have you played long ago but never finished? Feel free to include RPG maker games.
Breath of Fire IV - This is one of the few games on this list I'd really like to try beating. I'm honestly not sure why I never finished it. Guess I got busy with other stuff. I remember loving Breath of Fire III as a kid so, one day I'll try to finish this game. I'll probably start up a new file though because it's been many years since I last played.
Lunar 2 - I sorta rage quit it. Lunar 1 was awesome played it all the way through and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lunar 2 was good too but at some point in the game I got to a dungeon that just went on and on and on. The dungeon was so big that I just said screw it and never played again.
Skies of Arcadia - One of the few Dreamcast RPGs. I enjoyed the first few areas of the game but never got to finish it. Again I got busy with other stuff. Part of the reason I didn't continue was that I heard people saying the story was horribly generic.
Shadow Hearts - Like BoF IV I might want to revisit this game one day it was pretty interesting. I just for whatever reason never finished.
Baten Kaitos Origins - The first Baten Kaitos was great played the whole thing I recommend it to any RPG fan. The sequel however had a new battle system that I hated so I stopped playing early on.
Final Fantasy II - (not to be confused with FF IV my favorite FF) Final Fantasy II is the only FF game that I have started and not finished I've tried beating it 2 or 3 times but something always happens to make me lose my save file. I got really far too. But whatever I can live without seeing how Firion and friends save the day.
Opoona - Said to be a hidden gem RPG on the Wii. In reality its kinda so-so.
D for Dungeon - I usually finish RPG Maker games that I play but I stopped playing this one. D for Dungeon is a very well constructed game and it's very addictive. But it openly admits to not having much story. So, after a while I just stopped. I think this game is worth playing for a bit but unless you just love grinding in RPGs its not seemingly worth finishing. This is not a review though. This is more like impressions. I would only review something I finish. If this game did have comical dialog and story to go along with the fact that you are a baby going through a dungeon than I would finish it.
There's a couple of other RPG maker games that I started and then quit on but I don't think they had as many redeeming qualities as D for Dungeon.

I feel horrible
Thanks for all your support everyone my physical therapist just gave me new exercises so hopefully that will help.
To answer your question a student jumped on my back. The classroom my boss just recently put me in is filled with hypeactive kids its really tough.
I've been to a chiropractor some years ago for a different injury and that did help. Not sure if I should try for that this time though since the doctor says this is a muscle problem.

Ouch, that sounds rather painful! How did you hurt your back, anyway?
Either way, I hope that you can recover from this fast enough and get back into the swing of things eventually. Hopefully those pills that the doctors give you help a bit, and maybe some much needed rest might do the trick, too.
- Here’s hoping that you can manage to pull through this onwards to a speedy recovery.

Have you considered seeing a Chiro? I've been seeing one for the last year every week since I also have chronic pain due to subluxation in my cervical spine and it's helped quite a bit.
I was going to mention trying a standing desk or treadmill desk but sounds like that is painful as well over time.
Also I find meditation/mindfulness can help keep focus off the pain. Not sure if that's something you'd be interested in but it really improved my life.

Please let me vent for a bit.
Due to a recent back injury I'm living with back pain constantly. I'm trying to make a new game but I can barely sit and do it. I can't sit for more than 15 minutes without pain. Standing for to long isn't great either. Walking used to help and still does to some extant but even that can be painful now. I'm constantly icing my back taking pills. I'm in and out of the doctors office all the time. I'm in so much agony. I'm tired of this damn pain dictating my life!
Thanks for listening.

Design a world around a character or design a character around a world

Oh, we're abandoning this thread? I thought RedMask was using his specific example to ask for help as well as a segue to the more broad question.
Well at least some people get what I was going for.
Anyway it's perfectly fine if another topic is made. If people feel more comfortable moving the conversation to that thread it's all good. I'll be sure to read the comments on that thread as well.
Design a world around a character or design a character around a world
I been working on a new game and an interesting problem arose.
The main character of this new game is someone from my previous game who happens to have a very large hair style. When I had her go through a door way, I noticed the sides of her hair didn't quite fit and went through the edges of the door. I suppose its not a big deal but I thought maybe I can do something to fix said visual glitch. My first idea was to make the doors of the game wider (design a world around a character) but there are plenty of short haired people in the world to. So I'm thinking a better solution might be to have certain narrow doors scrunch her hair. Which would just require a certain animation for the character(design a character around a world).
Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts.
Would you rather design a world around a character or design a character around a world?

What's the best way to release a game?
author=luiishu535
Also, I think one of the best ways to release a game is through an epic trailer.
True.
If I could make video trailers I would have done it for my last game since it would make it much easier to show people what they can do in my game.
Unfortunately, I'm not even sure what equipment I'd need for videos.

Naturally, subscribers subscriber to something that has new features. Not just hype.
So I put new updates whenever I make an update.
Anyway, that's my thinking.
Good point Bulma. I might also be able to get more feedback this way.

First of all, it's generally better to tranquilize it beforehand: releasing can be stressful and cause the game to lash out at its caretakers.
Once you've tagged it to ensure you can track its movements, secure your tranquilized game in a safe carrier- a dog crate works well for smaller games, but you may need something larger if your game is over ten hours in length.
Use whatever transport needed to get your game and carrier out into its native environment. The farther you are from the road, the safer the game will feel, and the less likely you are to sustain injuries from a panicking game.
For safety, you may want to wear padded sleeves, especially if your game contains graphic violence or nudity. Stand behind the carrier, open the latch, and then immediately move away. Don't worry if your game doesn't immediately leave the carrier: it may be exercising caution. Normally, it will exit the carrier within a few hours, though it can take days for some games. It's recommended that you spend this time away from the area. Let the game return to the wild at its own pace. Once it's safely in its environment, you can retrieve the carrier.
Hope this helps!
lol Clearly this is the best advice. Thanks Sooz.
Black and Ethnic Face-sets Kickstarter has launched!
I've never made an online transaction in my life. I do want to support this though. Not sure if I'd ever use the face sets but I like the idea of giving people more diverse options for characters.
Seems I have until May 2nd to support it. Honestly I've been wanting to try the whole online transaction thing so I may just do. I think I'll need to get a credit card first. I know I probably sound like an old man (I'm in my twenties) but yeah I've never bought anything online.
I'll definitely spread the word on other sites. I have your Kickstarter bookmarked I'll spread info as best I can.
Like Slash said they might not be able to do every ethnicity but at least it's a start.

author=slashauthor=bulmabriefs144I figured it's just meant to be a start at expanding what's available, not the end-all be-all of resources.
If anyone is going to pay this kickstarter, it needs to be more specific and more inclusive.

Rebooting the game.
Well I should mention that the ingredients for kale soup do tend to vary depending on who makes it. I've seen other vegetables in there as well.
To be fair I'm sure the chestnut soup tastes good I wouldn't mind trying it but since I grew up with Kale soup I doubt I would like it more.

Nhubi trust me in my neck of the woods this is what makes up Kale soup. Kale soup is very popular where I live. I know what I'm talking about. I may not make it but my mom makes it my neighbors make it every school in my area serves it and many resturants in my area serve it it's called Kale soup.
I looked up Caldo Verde on google trust me that's not what I'm talking about.
