Nice screens! The map is looking pretty good too if not a bit empty at parts, specially the paved areas. I dunno, spice things up a little by adding a bit more detail (Puddles, tiny patches of grass, etc) or just by subtle shades of color on the ground. Look at how rich the grass texture is! All your ground tiles should have a similar 'liveliness' to them.

Also you're mixing tiles from very different games/places. Some of those tiles from SD3's Rabite Forest and CT's Millennium Fair are too bright and colorful for those houses from City castle of Jad. The houses look so gloomy in comparison! I suggest you to play around a bit with their colors until they make for a better match with the surroundings.

Now that's a more interesting subject - dealing with using controversial topics in your games and how you make that choice, deal with the reactions and handle the design aspects of such.

Haven't we been having this discussion over and over again for the last couple of years? The last time wasn't even too long ago.

Also, yeah. The issue people take with the "SJW" crowd (btw, I'm not fond of labels, but they do have some place in a discussion?) does not stem from the very concern for "Social Justice" causes. I think pretty much everybody is on board with that. No, the issue is that whole "Warrior" thing. The dogmatic, and sometimes even belligerent way in which some people approach those subjects... And judging by some of the reactions surrounding this whole 'Hatred' debacle, boy, do some people fit the description like a glove!

Does the label get thrown around all willy-nilly sometimes? Sure. But it would be a mistake to think that's the case 100% of the time...

I guess it's like with any other widely used terms. We see them used in so many ways that is hard to tell the difference anymore. xP

What are you thinking about right now?

I actually believe they're trying to destroy the planet and kill us all, and then go into their hidden bunkers with their non-perishable food supplies and swim in the money that can no longer buy anything.

It's a good thing Roland Emmerich knew about this and made us a tutorial in movie form about how to survive the end of the world. =P

Edit: Awkwaaaaard~

Should a game be completely transparent with its mechanic?

Yes, definitively. Things that that have a direct impact in the way the game plays should be made known to the player. Maybe not to push every detail down their throats, because not everybody cares about that stuff, and some people may even get confused by all the rules and formulas. But to put it somewhere, where it can be easily consulted at any time -in the same fashion that every program has a help file- Yes. Let the player decide how involved they want to get with your game.

Things that don't affect the gameplay, like: "Talk to a person X number of times to get a free item", it's cool if they find out on their own.

Square-Enix Decides To Give All SaGa Fans A... whole new game! Imperial SaGa, that is. (and it's not online!)

Heh; I'm indifferent about this because the only SaGa game I've liked was SaGa Frontier 2. And for what I understand, each entry in this series is kind of it's own thing? Unlimited SaGa, for example, played very differently and I couldn't get into it (The art was lovely, though). So who knows how is this one going to turn out... Still, I Hope it does well it that means less FF-XX-Xs in the future.

What are you thinking about right now?

I don't know... If there was nothing alive to perceive it, the world would simply be as there would be no concept of "bad". o__o?

Also, the world is a pretty Ok place. The good things far surpass the bad ones, we just linger on the bad because we like drama.

I'd say that as long as you can type stuffs on the interwebs, you're lucky enough. ;p

What are you jamming to?

I usually don't like newer music anymore, but this managed to send me back at least a decade or two... =P

Also, that hair!!! <3 <3 <3 xD

Why continue a series?

Yup. While "too girly" or "too manly(?)" are things that don't normally put me off, I can understand that sentiment. In recent years I've come to strongly dislike things that are "too kiddy(??)". If the main characters are below 20, that's a game I'll have a hard time getting into, if at all (It largely depends on the setting as well). For example, everybody keeps recommending me the Persona series like if it is the next best thing since sliced bread, but I just can't get past the anime high-school social drama vibes. *shudders*

So yeah, while I'd like to echo the suggestion to at least play FFX-2 for its battle system, that's probably not gonna change any minds.

why does that have to be an issue? can't people have tastes without anyone getting offended?

In their defense, you're a rather, uhm, 'polarizing' personality. And you could have phrased things in a different way. But still... QFT!
