[FULL GAME] Wraith: The Second Chapter ~Sainth~

Just want to dump this over here for the peeps that no longer go to GW.

How to get the most difficult to find essences:

Crypt

Make your way to the Icy Tower, and talk to the sainth that mentions seeing something within a dirty pool west of the World Tree, then go back there and check it out.

? ? ? ? ? ?

Talk to the man in one of the rooms who mentions explosives. Then leave. When you reach the Icy Tower, there's a room on the ground floor with a sainth and a flower. Talk to the sainth, then pick up the flower. Go back to the "explosives" man. The pit is below the bridge.

Asylum

In the basement of the Asylum, push the block against the left wall and climb up.

Cold World

After collecting 7 essences, return to the World Tree.

Whatever happened to Alter Alia's sequel?

Still pluggin' away at this. I'm guesstimating something like 1-2 years before I can release something playable.

High Power=Low Tier?

Man, comparing Sabin to Relm is like comparing a fighter to a black mage. Obviously the black mage is going to get all the really awesome stuff. But who's gonna make sure that black mage survives long enough to get that awesome stuff? Ain't gonna be anyone but the fighter.

EDIT: Oh and I want an RPG where there is a character with no actions except DEFEND.

There should be a character like this, that gets "Kill everything, even the final boss" as their lvl 99 spell that only they can get. Then people can argue how that character's top tier because at lvl 99 he/she owns everything in one turn.

High Power=Low Tier?

Relm overshadows Sabin from the getgo, dude.

OBJECTION: Relm takes a pile of preparations to make better than Sabin, and can still die pretty easily unless you outfit her with some good gear. In comparison, Sabin gets a lot of hard-hitting freebie techniques quickly and easily, doesn't need god-like equipment to kick ass and has enough HP and def to hold his own against anything.

Sabin > Relm

High Power=Low Tier?

I guess Relm probably overshadows Sabin if you grind a lot, but if you're a speedrunner like me, Sabin is pretty much the no.1 essential damage dealing machine.

It really depends on how you play.

Here's a demonstration of Alter AILA's new battle system.

I haven't done any balancing yet, which is why some attacks like Gray's ol' F*ckoff Cannon is doing so much damage. Anyways, this is probably going to be it from me for awhile. Be back when I've got a demo or full game going on.

Thanks a lot Trance. You're right, English isn't my first language, though I try to hide that by using big words ;D

About the glitch where you jump down seemingly out of nowhere, Veridianne had something similar happen to him in another part of the asylum. I think this is what happened:

Verridian, did you by chance, climbed up onto the movable box in the basement, and then held Shift to just walk off it? Cause if you did, then you didn't jump off the box, so the game thinks that you're still on it. The way the coding works is to memorize the position of the box in order to know where you can jump down. So when your x-coordinates matched where you should be on the box and you initiated an action, the game initiates the code to have you jump off the box, which is why it seems like you just jumped into the floor like that.

The second riddle was probably the most difficult to figure out. Ness also missed it the first time she played through.

> Nightblade

I actually rushed through this pretty quickly (roughly 2 months or so), because I had wanted to get it out as soon as I can. But yeah, because of that, a lot of things were skimped over to save time (such as more emotions to the portraits).

The walking animation is just the charaset graphics (so that only really leaves me 3.. maybe 4 frames to work with), while actions are generally full-blown animations. I guess I could've tried to use animations for the walking.

Might as well also answer your question back at GW. Actually, I just use a lot of shortcuts and time-saving techniques to maximize my efficiency. I also don't worry too much about perfection. Plus I'm a pretty focused kinda guy in general ;).

>DD

Wait, you died? How? You're not suppose to be able to die at all in the game ???

Thanks a lot for the feedback, guys.

Alter A.I.L.A. Genesis

Yep, still goin strong

Attention: Gaming World Refugees

Well personally, what I like about this site is that there's a proper main page that's been missing from GW for who knows how long now. Frankly, all they really do over there is banter and flame each other about what should be done and in the end, nothing really happens, which is part of why I've chosen to stay away from that trainwreck of a discussion.

[FULL GAME] Wraith: The Second Chapter ~Sainth~

Wow, to know my game's managed to make that kind of an impact. Honestly, that really makes my day :) (or night, I guess, since its midnight here right now).

About the riddles:

You're right about the Shrine's locked door, and the Crypt. The last one isn't the World Tree, though come to think of it, the description does kinda sound like it might be there. It's actually referring to somewhere within the Asylum.

For the Crypt, try going to the room that the tome refers to and duplicating what was written.

For the Asylum, if you pay attention to the background, something ought to seem different or out-of-place.

As for the locked door, you're going to have to hunt down the key-bearer. Don't worry, you don't have to go back up (there's nothing up there). Other than the shrine, there's only really one place where you'll find relevant "people" to talk to.

Hope that helps.

And I might be a very annoying spaz and write a lemon about Kana and Lily, only Lily has a boyfriend, so... Kind of nixes that idea. ;3

Hahaha, yeah I was getting that kind of impression too, writing this story. Technically their relationship is suppose to be platonic. ;)

Wha? You don't have to start over again. Just go to the right of the World Tree. Keep in mind, you can use the vines hanging from the ceiling in the caves to swing across pits.

Yeah, the really odd running animation is pretty much an engine limitation. It still looks kinda weird when I have the arms swinging properly since there's only 3 frames of animation.

Wow, I had no idea people would be bothered by only having two dots. I'll keep that in mind.

>Nightblade
No problem man. Sainth doesn't spoil too much of what actually happens in the first game. It'd help to have the backstory, but its not overly required.
