VIDEOWIZARD'S PROFILE

I've been at making games for RPG Maker for almost 20 years! No, they're not ALL Dragon Kingdoms games, just most of 'em.

Best RM Games you've Ever Played

Hmm? I just didn't like ABL when I played it, since I'm not really into that setting, which I felt Iron Gaia handled better, anyway. I don't like the idea behind Aveyond (charge for an RTP game), and didn't care for what I saw in The Way.

Now that we keep typing ABL, Book of Three (which did interest me) and the like, Lysander's bound to show up.

v Because Forever's End is almost 150 MB, and it uses the Final Fantasy font on the title screen, as well as in its stylings in-game.

Best RM Games you've Ever Played

Somehow, I'm not terribly surprised I haven't made any games on the lists. Perhaps if it were about the WORST RM games... j/k

This is what I've come up with so far, in no particular order:

Wilfred the Hero
Diary of a Madman
Tyrant God Saga Altered Perception
Dreamer '95
Tales of the Wind '95
Sunset over Imdahl
Iron Gaia 1
Forever Across Dreams
Three the Hard Way
Flashpoint
Dragoon Legends, if it counts. It's not technically RPG Maker, so...
MUSE
Legend of the Phoenix Tear '95

Honorable Mentions, AKA Most Promising
Hero's Realm
Dragon Fantasy
Dragon Fantasy II
Generica
Mage Duel
and
Final Fantasy I-2. Really into retro-type games.
plus many more that I want to play someday.

I really need to play more games. I'm not a big ABL, Aveyond (any of them) or The Way fan, however!

Dragon Kingdoms: Birth of a Legend

Not giving up on making the game, just re-tooling it. I should've said moving on to making the sequel for a while. I just got OUT of a remaking cycle at the time of the (hali's) review, after all. I rarely actually quit making games. Even Celestial Descent is supposed to become Celestia some year.

left to form Ghostlight

Same here. Also, I started RMing with RPG Maker Gurus as well (1998!), then moved on to RMD, then to NeXus, then BACK to RMD, then the old RPG Maker.net. I then joined as a staff member at RMD for several years, IIRC, all the way to the end of the site in late 2005. Then I moved on to GW, where I only stayed until mid-2006 when the mentioned incident occurred. Then moved to Ghostlight, followed it to the ill-fated merger, then moved here (although I do follow some other sites). That's more moving than some people do in their life.

How did you find rpgmaker.net and why did you stick around?

Was he really only 14 when A Blurred Line was released late 2000? If so, that's amazing. Or does the 86 in Lysander86 mean something else?

Dragon Kingdoms: Birth of a Legend

And so, the Birth of a Legend becomes the death of a legend. You're just going to have to live with the RPG Maker 2 version, because I'm moving on to remaking its sequel.

Release Something! Day VI - Discussion Thread

Ouch. Well, I guess I'm canning this game, then. I don't see any way to save it. As for the bees, not that it matters now, they came from the warmer other side of the cave and wandered into the icy part.

3 HOUR COMPETITION RESULTS REVIEWED AND AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD (capslock ftw)

Everyone's a giant(ess) for a day!
Atari 2600 RPG!
Final Fantasy if it were on the N64. Or Genesis/Mega Drive.
Play the game backwards.

Gamemaking and Time Management.

It might be easier to put an hour or two into a project each day, if, you know, it is actually an interesting project. Sometimes, it's just far easier to while the time away at RMN or YouTube, especially after a bad day.

With that, I am leaving RMN. APRIL FOOLS!

RM2K3, Horribly Slow ATB Bar?

Maybe it's because the difference in the agility stat was too great. If agility is set to 30 for monsters, the agility should be around 40 for the party. Same if the monsters are at 1 and the party is at 10. Or 990 and 999.

Come to think of it, maybe agility should've been capped at 30 in RM2k3 (maybe 1 point every three levels, maxing out around level 60). Because it's unlikely that a game will be long enough to really need 999 points.
