FLYINGJESTER'S PROFILE

I am the Jester.

I make games using JavaScript, C, C++, Mercury, Java, Assembly (amd64 and UltraSparc) and Python. I used to use Sphere a lot, but I'm more into C/C++ and Mercury nowadays. I still use JavaScript and embed it sometimes, and I usually use Python for build systems and system management.

I wrote TurboSphere, which is a recreation of the Sphere Game Engine with a number of major improvements. I'm not really working on it anymore.

I'm surely going to finish making a game someday. I mean, sooner or later, it's bound to happen. Right?

It's amazing! The editor is really easy to use, even though since I don't understand Japanese I can't read any of the instructions. It can also create anything you see in the normal game's courses, I think you can basically make anything the game is capable of representing. There are also a number of themes, music, and decorations you can add that aren't in the normal game (although some of the added maps, the DD Cups, have all of them).

The ship creator is pretty cool, too. It's not as detailed as F-Zero GX's is, but it's better than I thought it would be. Unfortunately, although all the normal game menus are actually mostly in English, the editors are all only in Japanese, and I still can't figure out how to use custom ships in any mode.

So I've finally played the F-Zero X: Expansion Kit. It's everything I dreamed it would be!

But hey, free shipping.

A Halloween Horror

I probably won't have anything done before the end. Oh well, I had fun trying at least.

This.

We talk about Foods we like.

I wish I had seen this topic earlier today.

I made a broccoli-cheddar-chickpea bake, a kasha and tomato curry, and pumpkin pie. Makes me wish I took a picture :/

We try to get every active RMN user to post in this topic.

I post, therefor I am.

I miss being able to see the submission queue. Sad times :(

I miss the stories of the Queue-Keepo, but I'm guessing that I've basically heard about all the major archetypes already.

A Halloween Horror

I'm finishing up the interface for my point-and-click adventure game. After that, the main thing to implement will be the room system, and then it's just content and fixing bugs until the game is done.

What technologies do you not miss at all?

Is it too early to not miss spinning hard drives? I went all SSD around 2009, and I've just never been back.
