FLYINGJESTER'S PROFILE
I am the Jester.
I make games using JavaScript, C, C++, Mercury, Java, Assembly (amd64 and UltraSparc) and Python. I used to use Sphere a lot, but I'm more into C/C++ and Mercury nowadays. I still use JavaScript and embed it sometimes, and I usually use Python for build systems and system management.
I wrote TurboSphere, which is a recreation of the Sphere Game Engine with a number of major improvements. I'm not really working on it anymore.
I'm surely going to finish making a game someday. I mean, sooner or later, it's bound to happen. Right?

[Poll] PS2 Vs. XBox Vs. GameCube
@seacliff217: There have never been any 128 bit consoles. There has never been a modern, production 128-bit CPU.
The Dreamcast was 64-bit. The Gamecube was 32-bit, by the way.

mysteries of rpgmaker?
Thinking about the 'mysteris of RPGMaker'...
A couple years ago, I worked with someone (I can't recall who...sorry!) and we got RM drawing arbitrary graphics primitives (mostly lines) of any color.
I was shocked that nobody cared. Apparently, nobody ever wants to draw shapes using RPGMaker :(

Did you ever had a close to death experience?
While I was in high school, a friend and I were fooling around in the junkyard. We were jumping from car to car, about 30 feet above the ground (covered in shards of twisted metal), and I lost my balance and fell backwards off a car. Luckily, I landed on the hood of the car directly below it, but for a moment I thought 'well, this is it. I had a good run'.
When I was 18, I was driving down an unpaved road with some friends, and we had some hunting (sort of) rifles in the back seat of the car. One of them went off, and the bullet when through the windshield right in front of me, very fortunately missing me and my two friends in the front seat. I don't know exactly how close it got, but my first thought was 'How did that go through me without me noticing?'
Once when we were driving down a logging road in my friend's old Toyota pickup, and the throttle got stuck full on. He shifted to neutral, but we went sideways and almost flipped the car going about 55. Perhaps we would have lived through it had we flipped, but it certainly wouldn't have been pleasant.
When I was 20, the front tire of my Jeep Cherokee flew off while I was going 75 MPH (I had put some really terrible aluminum wheel spacers on it...don't do that). I very almost lost control and would have veered into the forest. Again, maybe I'd have survived. I'm glad I didn't get to find out for certain.
I'd like to think I'm older and wiser now.

Audio randomness help!
Usually, to get the length of a linearly accessed file or stream, you seek to the end, record the position, then rewind back to the start.

The site has actually been much faster for me than it was previously. Excellent work, kudos all around!
