FLYINGJESTER'S PROFILE
I am the Jester.
I make games using JavaScript, C, C++, Mercury, Java, Assembly (amd64 and UltraSparc) and Python. I used to use Sphere a lot, but I'm more into C/C++ and Mercury nowadays. I still use JavaScript and embed it sometimes, and I usually use Python for build systems and system management.
I wrote TurboSphere, which is a recreation of the Sphere Game Engine with a number of major improvements. I'm not really working on it anymore.
I'm surely going to finish making a game someday. I mean, sooner or later, it's bound to happen. Right?

I think the real issue is schools. We should just get rid of them. No schools, there would be no slipping test scores (because no tests), no school shootings, no bullying. Don't blame the middle man!

Probably the most depressing thing in my life is how I feel like I just get worse and worse at playing guitar. I slowly get less ambitious, and I feel the music less and less. One day, I'll just be stood there stone faced, and realize that this is the end of music for me.
What have you redone the most?
More programming-related, but usually for a game...I've written many new JSON parsers time and time again. Like, I've written double-digit-numbers of JSON parsers, in tons of languages--Java, JavaScript, Python, C, C++, AMD64 Assembly, UltraSparc assembly, Mercury...I've doing it for the last five years.
It's gotten to the point where I can write a 100% compliant JSON parser in assembly under two hours, and in C in under an hour. I spent only three hours writing TurboJSON for the McBacon Jam 2 game with an eye for speed, and it turned out to be close to as fast at parsing as RapidJSON, one of the fastest parsers ever made.
I just have JSON fever or something :P
Or maybe I just subconsciously think that if I understand the problem of parsing JSON well enough, I could somehow solve the parsing performance bottleneck problem.

So, I don't care too much about GMOs, since all domesticated plants have been genetically modified through human selection of crops for thousands of years. Almost all the food we eat is a GMO of one form or another.
However, if you don't believe that evolution is a real process, then humans are incapable of modifying food in that way. And all our food before genetic engineering was 100% natural.
The only time I really care all that much about GMOs are some of the new ones that some companies like Monsanto are creating that are intentionally infertile, just to force farmers to keep buying from Monsanto. That's very predatory. But it's more of a consumer rights issue, and only a GMO issue tangentially.

RMN v4.6 a.k.a. "Backlog"
Some of us have our sights set very low. For someone who is still just starting out, it would be very exciting to get those kinds of notifications.
What's up with all the people suddenly moving their projects to MV? I mean, it's not like VX Ace is going to become a shadow of the past that soon... Right?

My TBS game still consists of only a scrolling tile demo. Only now it's threaded.
But I'm pretty sure all great games begin as a threaded scrolling tile demo. Right?

To use the resources that came with it, I guess?
Huh. That also seems odd to me, since I rate custom assets much higher than otherwise. But I suppose not everyone knows what the RTP looks like.
Similar to how that obvious Unity look to a game makes me automatically a little disappointed.
[General Design] What is the worst implemented/thought out system you've encountered?
I never considered the magic system in Morrowind bad in that way, since I usually use spells that use a pretty constant percentage of my magicka meter. While I can spam cheap spells, it means that in general the same amount of my magicka meter causes the same amount of experience.
I was more disappointed by how impossibly difficult it is to start into most kinds of magic without paying for training. And how training basically makes any kind of grinding except alchemy a total waste of time.
