Chain of Retribution
Haha, well the other one is hidden by FROGS. Collect em all (as a spoiler, there are 15 frogs to collect)! It is pretty hard or sometimes impossible to backtrack and get them all if you miss one so just keep an eye out if you do. I think one near the end is actually in a chest! It's not as hard a boss as the one you fight on the mountain though, but you get a good reward for it as well.
Glad you like the dialogue though, we had fun writing that! I think I know exactly who is responsible for that part though, haha.
But the answer is, we're not yet. I mean it'd be nice but right now everyone involved with this project is very busy with their own things so it might not happen for a while. Sorry!

Please make a sequal and keep it hidden again tooDon't worry, it'll be so hidden you won't know if we are even working on one or not!

The Screenshot Topic Returns

Made a comparison screenshot with this town, so it's basically gameboy stylized now. I am using it in this project too so it's not just a test of the graphics.
VX Ace autotile breaker?

Here's how a template for it looks. Consider each general color (green, blue, brown, purple) as an autotile.
16x16 corners, 16x32 or 32x16 sides, 32x32 middle. That's pretty much how it works. The top 2 tiles in an autotile is for the corners (on the right) and either to show how it looks when you put only one tile down or for the map editor display on the left side. I haven't really tested that. Either way, the autotiling part itself consists of 4 tiles so it's a total size of 64x64.
Or if you're mapping it and just want to show the middle piece without anything else, press shift while placing it down.
Keeping it in RMN.
I wouldn't say RM2k3 was the greatest of RPG Maker programs, but I think the fact that there was no scripting and just a more powerful (even if slightly) eventing system than the other RPG Makers meant that people had to sort of design their systems and I guess it forced the creativity. You had to learn how to use it because you couldn't copy/paste stuff. Now with all sorts of scripts for all sorts of things, everyone instead uses those because only a few people know how to script and they don't realize how much you can do with eventing (and granted, in RMXP you couldn't do much with it).
So basically, FF13 menu script with Melody battle system and Mining script and fishing script and whatever other script we find around. You CAN make an interesting game and a unique game using some scripts that already exist, but most people don't. You can also still event things in RMVX/Ace so it's not like you couldn't use that. It's also a thing where everyone is trying to copy their favorite commercial game and it's sort of like we're lagging behind them while they "innovate" rather than the other way around. Worrying about how to get everyone in the world to like your game, talking about game design topics about the single best way to do everything, and then you got a recipe for "every game is pretty much the same boring thing".
Also people can double scale graphics to use in RMVX/Ace if they really wanted, it can help if you want to use resources that were only for RM2k3 or if you want to make your graphics small!
But yeah I'd love to see stuff being made that really inspires you and challenges you like we did back in 2005!

Haha, well only so much I can do in 3 days! I do want to expand it but I have 2 other projects I want to finish before that so it might take a while!
