FLYINGJESTER'S PROFILE

I am the Jester.

I make games using JavaScript, C, C++, Mercury, Java, Assembly (amd64 and UltraSparc) and Python. I used to use Sphere a lot, but I'm more into C/C++ and Mercury nowadays. I still use JavaScript and embed it sometimes, and I usually use Python for build systems and system management.

I wrote TurboSphere, which is a recreation of the Sphere Game Engine with a number of major improvements. I'm not really working on it anymore.

I'm surely going to finish making a game someday. I mean, sooner or later, it's bound to happen. Right?

Stack level too deep?

Do you have any recursive functions? Because I know a great way to make the stack much smaller. Don't use recursive functions. Recursive functions are only very, very, very, very rarely better than looped functions.

Male US Voices needed

AGAIN:
ANY US ACCENT IS FINE AS LONG AS IT IS AN US ACCENT. SINCE MY ENGLISH IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO KNOW HOW A US ACCENT REALLY SOUNDS IT NEEDS TO BE A REAL AMERICAN MALE NOT A BRIT DOING AN AMERICAN ACCENT!

Unless they knew otherwise, I'll 99.9% of the US citizens who say Hugh Laurie in House had no idea he wasn't from the US. To be fair, I've heard some really poor US accents by british folk trying their best, as well.

Fire Emblem :
Girl restores order to her country.

Banjo Kazooie:
Bird and Bear stop a witch who kidnapped the bear's sister.

Minecraft:
Guy looks for diamonds.

Come on. No matter what you are doing in Minecraft, more often than not you are looking for diamonds, or at the very least would be happy to find them.

Disallowing the use of other programs

Dude, don't worry about people hacking or cheating. And if you absolutely cannot let it slide, make it the last thing you worry about, when everything else has been taken care of.

Crushing on my friend.... + he's gay?

Actually Craze did something really Crazy there. People aren't supposed to share their intimate lives on the web. Especially not on Rpg Maker forums.

Sometimes the best advice is anonymous and alien advice. If you can filter out the noise, there are voices of people who can say things without worrying about upsetting you. Sometimes you hear the truth that no one you know, not even yourself, can bear to say to you.

Sometimes. Take it all with a grain of salt. A massive, massive grain of salt.

Camstudio Recording Issues

You could also try a different emulator. BSNES is really very good.

Opera web browser moving over to Webkit

I've read that ultimately, the Opera folk are planning on making Opera just a fork of Chromium.

(as I know a lot of people design for Webkit browsers and ignore anything else).
Ironic how we used to bitch and moan about how everyone was coding for Trident (read: IE6), but everyone coding for WebKit is causing less of a fuss (not going to say it's acceptable because it isn't).

Because Webkit is much, much more standards compliant that Trident is. Webkit, KHTML, and Gecko all behaved pretty similarly, whereas Trident just did whatever it felt like. Or at least it used to be that way.

Request for help to make a RPG , programmer needed to pull it off

Even the Sphere image editor, from the late '90s, is better than MS paint.

Crushing on my friend.... + he's gay?

Do what your heart tells you.

The path to happiness will certainly have some serious heart ache on the way, either way.

Opera web browser moving over to Webkit

I hope they don't introduce Chrome's biggest flaw/bug when they move to Webkit (whereby closing the last tab closes the entire browser, contrary to user expectations).

That's not a Webkit behaviour.
