Release Something Weekend
Yeh.. I wasn't sure if I was meant to link my game here or not. I have done all the is necessary to submit my game demo for the event and all that. I have seen other people linking to their game project page, so here's mine as well:

Tales of Medea (Prologue)
Hehe that's true.. I was actually 1 day early in finishing.. :)
It's my birthday today.. so I will be celebrating the rest of the day with family.. hopefully once I get back, there'll be some more downloads and maybe a little feedback too :)
Really hope there's no game breaking bugs.. I play tested it a bunch of times plus I play tested it again to check the "with RTP" pack worked on another computer too..

Working on getting the demo files as small as possible...
There is a psychological aspect with file size that needs to be taken into account. Many casual players will look at large numbers, not really understanding how big it is, and possibly baulk at downloading it unless they are really interested in it. If it's a small filesize and they are on the fence, then it's more likely they'll download it just to see if it's worth it.
I believe that we also need to be mindful that not all countries have 1gbit internet connections and many have monthly data quotas, which limit the amount they can download each month.
Taking all these factors (and more) into account means, my opinion at least.. hehe, it's worth reducing the size if possible. :)

Creating the first demo release..
Ok, so I've managed to halve the filesize down to around 110MB now for the files "with RTP" included.. so it was definitely worth going to trouble of removing the unused files. I've tested the files work by putting them on a laptop that has never had a single rpgmaker game on it and it works great. :)

Those events are just images, no scripts or events inside. The only ones that have events are the red dots and they make a call to a common event. I tried it on my wife's laptop (to ensure the "with RTP" version of the files worked) and it didn't lag there either.
Fingers crossed though :) Will find out after the demo is released for the RSW :)
