Non-white resources?

Looks decent to me perhaps a little more grey highlighting in the woman's hair (like the original sprite). Have you tried seeing how they look in game? Sometimes the background transparency color can really throw off your perception of colors.

[2K3] Sprite limit?

If there is a limit I haven't hit it yet. One of my projects has become a dumping ground of resources and has nearly 3500 monsters in its folder.

If you had a restore/data loss on the computer I would assume that it is a computer problem (most likely hard drive). If you don't have a backup on a separate hard drive I'd try taking your current project and copying it onto another hard drive, adding monsters and checking to see if it still has the same issue.

Timer in Combat

I'm not familiar with XP to be honest but if its anywhere near the same as 2k3 with battles and timers you will have to pause the timer for battles to get around this (baring a custom script of course).

Can you call common events and have them run as parallel processes? If so you can do a custom timer counting down the seconds that were remaining in the clock before the party entered a battle.

[RM2k3]Changing battle charsets during the game?

As long as you aren't trying to change the battle char during a battle I know you can switch out their classes to do this as long as you aren't using the classes as a well class.

As long as all the characters stats/skills are provided for on the character itself just switch the class based on what weapon they have equipped and have it keep level/stats. The class battle char should take over the original.

Gaming developing and where to begin.

Definitely care about story/gameplay first and foremost. I really can't think of too many games that turned out great that had the graphics down first (ie in alpha) and added gameplay to those graphics later...

Heck some of them never even got around to looking shiny and still play great! Just look at how much fun people had with pac man when it came out and that certainly wasn't the most complex or visually intense game out at the time.

New Demo version uploaded!

Ya this fix might make it a 'wee' bit longer ;)

Cavern Of Doom II: The Dooming

To be fair the graphics are quite a bit more high res than the first game :) This is practically HD in comparison!

Methinks you have a point there...

Cavern Of Doom II: The Dooming

Doesn't seem to be as many place to advertise as there used to be. Plus a lot of people want fancy graphics and a serious story anymore ;)

Cavern Of Doom II: The Dooming

Plenty of testing left to go the demo is the tip of the ice berg. Do update you're version to the new demo though as it contains many new graphical updates and credits of course.
