Wow, my eyes must be bugging out because I couldn't spot the difference between the two forest pictures for a moment. It was like looking for Waldo.

The roof tiles don't really match the wall tiles very well. I think that you should use wood tiles for the roof.

Infection

This looks very cool. My only concern is that the RM2000 DBS may feel a little odd in a game like this. Suppose I'll have to give it a try when I have time and find out!

Ah, the type of story telling that always makes us wonder what is going on! That is the best kind of story telling in an RPG in my opinion.

Whatchu Workin' On? Tell us!

I'm making changes/revisions to the oldest portions of Blackmoon Prophecy due to the first 2-3 hours being the most unpolished parts by a landslide.

1. MogNet GPS
The Mognet GPS system is something I decided to put together after someone asked for road signs on the world map, and several others expressed a concern over how easy it was to get lost. MogNet GPS appears on the world map as stone tiles that, when stepped on, will show the player what the nearest locations are and what directions they are in.

2. Branch Castle Redesign
Branch Castle was pretty poorly designed. The version of the castle from the demo was actually Branch's second incarnation. The first was even worse! I decided to give designing the castle another go, but this time I didn't stop at just redesigning the exterior. I've made the entire castle easier to navigate.

4. Improved Dialogue & Grammar
This is an eternal struggle for me, since the game has bits that were worked on from as far back as 2004 in it. The variation in quality from one location to the next in the game can be very extreme. I'm still trying to bring everything in Blackmoon Prophecy up to my modern level of quality, which is evidenced by the Branch redesign. Grammar is the biggest problem though, as having dialogue from my late teenage years looks pretty hideous with characters spouting the most juvenile or unbelievable lines imaginable. This is continuously being addressed and improved upon.

5. More Coherent Directions & Story
In the past, a lot of people never knew where to go or what to do next. A lot of folks seemed to have trouble finding out how to reach Trei (or how to even get the chocobo to get there) and where to obtain a dragon scale. This lack of direction only existed in the early areas of the game, which I am going over with a fine comb. Whenever I put up another download, the main storyline will be much easier to follow and nobody should ever feel lost or unsure of where to go next.

6. Primary MIDI Soundtrack
My mp3 soundtrack skyrocketed Blackmoon Prophecy's RAR archive to 200 megabytes. After replacing all mp3s with midi files, it has been reduced to a very comfortable 40 megabytes. The midi soundtrack will be the main one that I distribute with the primary downloads, but alternate mp3 versions will still be available because... well, they just sound a heck of a lot better and will be there for people who don't mind downloading 160 megabytes of mp3s.

Overall, to fix up so much junk at the start, is really looking to take more time than I expected! It will be worth it all though, since I know a lot of people don't give Blackmoon Prophecy a chance due to the earliest parts of the game kind of, well, sucking a bit while the later portions are actually much better.

The Screenshot Topic Returns

Yeah I agree, you really nailed the FF6 style. Can't wait to see screenshots from other areas of the game!

Third suggestion of the night is another winner! Man, I'm on fire. I should open an "ask me for suggestions" booth.

I just figured that the overall tone of the game seemed serious (especially from the earliest screenshot), so I just grabbed a font that looked "mature and serious" if that makes any sense.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

Mostly playing Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection on the PSP. Even though I've played the original game to death, I am tackling it again before I play Interlude and The After Years. Currently in the Giant of Babil, so I'm getting there!

I don't think the name sounds like a JRPG at all. Sounds more Western.

What about this one? http://www.dafont.com/planewalker.font

The new border makes it even better. Love how it gradually fades away.
