Review Vote Guidelines
1/1.5 - so horribile I will not mention it. No one would like this trash.
2/2.5 - bad but with some good qualities or good
but with many bad flaws. Could have been worse and some people may like it anyway.
3/3.5 - from decent to good games. This is what I normally expect: entertainment. Some people may like it more, others less but it's ok!
4/4.5 - exceeded my expectations. These are must play for everyone.
5 - Rpgmaker Nirvana

*NOTE*: event games/jam submissions and other games that were developed in a very short time or with other restrictions get a rating bonus (usually +0,5), you are warned!

(SOLVED) Help me find this game (about DaVinci)

author=Liberty
It was one by corfaisus and others, and made for one of the events

Exactly! A Canvas for Eternity! That one. You are right, Liberty, thanks!
As I guessed it was removed, unlike the others. My searching skill is clearly better than my memory. ^_^'

Remembrance Review

Well she's surely the most interesting character of the bunch, and I liked also the weird man with the trenchcoat. I was almost sure that Ashley was going to be the final boss....and I was wrong! This is what I liked more. She is ruthless but helpful, in combat she is strong but not invincible. She is surely a complex character, more than the others.

(SOLVED) Help me find this game (about DaVinci)

You might try this thread.
That aside, if it's a more recent game that's complete, could it have been eligible for this event we just had? You may be able to use the link on the event page to find that game!

Thanks Marrend!
I did not use the thread you mentioned because the game was quite recent, from end of 2018-2019.

I already tried to use the event link, and I also did various searches but so far it was no use, maybe I just missed it...

I'll try once again but now I'm pretty sure that the page was deleted! It doesn't matter, I'll review something else! :)

(SOLVED) Help me find this game (about DaVinci)

Hello!
I do not know if this is the right section but I'll try:

Some months ago I was playing a game about Leonardo Da Vinci that I wanted to review (had no reviews at the time, and I think it was released in 2018/2019, complete). Due to my extreme bad luck, my hard disk broke and I lost everything. One game I wasn't able to recover (yet!) was this game.

I just remember that it was made in Rpgmaker, but I cannot remember which version (well maybe Rmk2000/2003... MAYBE!) as it used custom graphics (a style similar to that of the "Maned Lioness", to name an example, but with less colors, mainly white/black for buildings, and green for the grass) and not RTP.
The game was about the apprentice of the old Leonardo da Vinci that joins him in a quest to destroy the paintings (that become monsters). Colors were equipped and used like abilities, with different effects.

I tried to search and look for it but it's no use.
Does anyone remember the title?
Was it deleted?

Thanks a lot if someone can help!

What's the Worst RPG Maker Game You've Played and Why

Hm Dhux's Car isn't good looking but at least it doesn't use the usual rips and has a distinct charm, but I'm too fearful to play that game after the things I've read about its difficulty.

For me there are three kinds of worst Rpgmaker game:

A) The terrible game with singular resources: for example The Asylum of Pleasure and Pain and its spin off and derived games that I'll never find. Also some unfindable games I saw on youtube, like the Killer7 Rmk fangame. I'd never play them at all but I wish I could find the sprites/songs used.

B) The terrible game with boring style: for example...well I can't remember the title, but it was something like "Magic Sword" and had even two sequels: used mainly rtp, maps were huge and half empty, unbalanced enemies, and I was unnerved by the fact that the protagonist had an anime face and the father had a face taken from a renaissance painting. Not to mention the dialogues, but he if this was made for fun/comedy... well it's awful.
(I know that using resources from different sources it's normal for the Rmk2003 games, but for example games like Warrior Saga or Legion Saga try to create a coherent setting. This was not even trying!)

C)The unfunny "hilarious" game: two words: toilet humor. O worse questionable content. (I'm a boring person, I know!)

The Last days according to Ezra Review

author=orochii
Thanks for the review! This was the first game I made all the graphics for. That, along with keeping a max of a month of development were my main goals, and I managed to do it! It also was my entry for a contest

Yay, these were great, I just wished the game was longer, but ok, clearly being made for a contest there is a reason if it's short, but have enough variety to be enjoyable. The charsets style remind me of Phantasy Star 2.

author=orochii
If I recall correctly, I kind of based it on two things: one was the apocryphal book of Ezra, which I came up by looking into apocalypse stuff. The other thing was some thing I wrote for a Literature class, just for the setting.

Well I recognized the reference Ezra Bound/Pound, but I was convinced it was inspired also by Hotline Miami, that came out the same year and has an opponent that always wears a motorcycle helmet (and he's a killer too), besides the cryptic dialogues and the trippy music.

author=orochii
As for the music, I opted to use public domain MOD files from modarchive. There is a lot of cool stuff there. I don't know what criteria I followed, I think I just picked songs that I felt had the taste I wanted, I don't know much about music. But yeah, I wanted some somber, some rock/metal, some weird... Like the bar music.

I said the graphics were great, but music was a great selection too! I did not know there was this kind of resource site.

author=orochii
The plot could've been done better, yeah. I kind of rushed at the end. The overall theme was about delusions, playing with what's real and what's not. I didn't make a good work. xD

The plot is ok, if I understand correctly this game wasn't originally made in english, and it was translated only later. And despite that english isn't my native language I think I grasped the meaning of the story, because clearly there is the theme of delusions, but in the end I was not sure if the protagonist was a chosen one or a madman, anyway I think this was left obscure.

author=orochii
But yeah, thanks for the review! I enjoy reading these a lot, doesn't matter how many years later.

Thank you, I like playing games that are original and creative, even if they are old!

Mystical Princess Ultra Review

Wow just a couple of days? Not bad at all I would need at least some week with disastrous results! Happy you liked it!

author=orochii
"this story is a clash between two dark lords for the control of the city and the nearby territories"
The way you phrased that sounds so awesome I think I'd love to revisit the idea. I'll give Ultra some love, someday.

Well, if you do, keep the humour and the funny dialogues! My phrase do not mention that, but this is an important feature of this game and one of the things I liked most!

Secret Santa 2019 (Sign-up)

(no offense TheRpgmakerAddict but that is one seriously ratchet avatar)

Daaaaamn I am lazy and I had worse options, ok? At least this will be an easy task to the person who will get this awesome opportunity.

Secret Santa 2019 (Sign-up)

Sounds fun so I'll sign up.
I can write one of my infamous review or do a fanart (or I can make a special review with an added fanart about that game!).

WISHLIST
Since I have no games (a shame but, they'd be awful)... well any kind of art, fanart, writing is appreciated, probably something that I can use here as a new profile picture would be great (I will display it for at least one year!). Even if it's just a special edited charset.

Or also this

Actually, making me a cameo in your project would be a great (not so secret) gift for me. You could just send me a screenshot of the cameo.

but I'm asking too much, I know! It's your choice, sooooo the thought will be appreciated! Thanks!

over and out!

Our Desolate Planet Review

author=Cap_H
Hey, thanks for the detailed review.

Thanks! I had fun playing the game!

author=CashmereCat
A 3 or a 3.5 star review for something with so many bugs (not just the literal ones) is very generous!

Well, well, well, I'm not the only one that gave that score! ;)

author=CashmereCat
A lot of the confused nature of this project was actually kind of intentional, but there's some of it that isn't intentional. I take 100% responsibility for the Dancing Queen gag, yet I still defend it as completely dark and played not-for-jokes. It's a serious moment.

I like when the game surprise me! It's really bed when everything is predictable.

author=CashmereCat
Glad to hear you didn't totally pull your hair out, and thanks for this unexpected review. You truly are a beast (in a good way!), TheRpgMakerAddict.

As I said before, I had fun! Game is rather easy, so it was relaxing and enjoyable.
And yes, I know what you mean. I am!
Thank you! :D
