It's gonna be fun, seiromem. Be sure to get some MEAT and MEAD while you're there. (don't get mead if you're under 21 tho)
I always liked watching the jousts but they take a while to set up and if you're in the cheap seats it can be hard to see sometimes.

Oh, mead is so good. Get the mead. Bring a fake id if you're under 21...but don't drink too much; it can be pretty potent.

Go to Total Wine. I recommend Chaucer. It's cheap (about 15 dollars), and it's really good quality. B. Nektar is a bit pricier (not like tons of money. Like 20 to 25 dollars a bottle), and I'm not even sure you can find a B. Nektar that isn't specially flavored with some kind of gourmet seasoning, but it's an excellent mead. I recommend highly if you really want something special.
