author=quillandpaperauthor=RaymanMAny suggestions on how to liven it up?
It's so... predictable.
I'm not sure what he'd suggest, but I'd recommend maybe using a different sprite for the innkeep for starters. I'd also suggest changing their dialog to something besides the default RTP message. Something as simple as giving the inn a name would help with that.
Example: "Welcome to the Prancing Pony! Our rooms are 30G a night. Sorry for the raised prices, we're nearly full with all the people in town for the festival."

You might have already noticed this, but you're missing the cliff edge in the upper left corner. Nice mapping though!
Let's Build a Planet! Atargatis!
Italaxan
These fearsome sea creatures have been the bane of countless explorers and fishermen over the years. Now nearly mythical, the Italaxan was hunted close to extinction for its bones, which possess an odd luminous quality.
The average Italaxan is as long as a blue whale, but much faster and far more aggressive. Their gaping maw contains teeth as long as an adult male's arm, which are capable of shredding wooden ships like paper. Younger Italaxan are dark blue; they gradually become black as night during adolescence. They are nearly blind, but sense their prey by tracking vibrations in the water.
The Italaxan is carnivorous, choosing to feed mostly on Kilikan fish and other sea creatures. They enjoy snacking on Raxaltus (Raxalti?), but are wary of large packs. However, they aren't above snatching up unwary Atargatians when the chance arrives. They hunt by lying motionless in deeper areas of the ocean, their mouth open wide to masquerade as a cave. When their prey comes in for a closer look, the Italaxan slams its jaws shut and feasts. They have also been known to attack ships, tearing into them from underneath. Scientists have no explanation for why the Italaxan shifts from its normal hunting methods to do this, but some speculate that it may be to drive away what the Italaxan perceive as larger predators.
For centuries, the Italaxan were revered as gods by some superstitious Atargatians, who made weekly sacrifices of young maidens and Korthar to the massive beasts.
Italaxan is both the plural and singular form, by the way.

@Kevinds: I really, really like those sprites you're using.
@FarOz: Damn. *Whistles* Those ruins are sweet.
Here's my offering. This is my first "serious"/large undertaking in 2K3.
Haunted castle.
Sorry for the large image, but my hide tags are rebelling.

Well, shoot. Went to start work on this and Finale crashed. :\
I guess I'll pull out until I can get it to work. I was really looking forward to doing this too, but I don't feel like learning a brand new program today.

I love this screenshot. I think you're one of the few people who can parallax map without it looking like you're just cramming in detail for the sake of detail, if that makes sense.

Looking for some more feedback on my 2K3 mapping. First one is a church and the second is a Thieves' Guild kind of place in the hills.

I may review this, by the way. I'm enjoying myself quite a bit so far; I can only really offer harsh words about your mapping. Your interiors, in general, are really large and filled with empty space. If you plan on fixing anything in this game, I'd fix that first. I'm enjoying the story and characters. The journal and backstory keep your game from being a generic fantasy story, not that there's anything wrong with generic fantasy.
