Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

I'm glad you were able to finish off the town! The shield is just a gag item, Ashiee can probably explain it better.

If you are level 93-94 you are WAY more than leveled enough to go for it! Thank you for the kind words! =)

FAQs

Yep, most Blue Magic is INT based. I should probably put alternate locations to get some of these rarer spells...

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Yep, just a little trick, haha.

The FAQ section has been updated with new information. Thanks for Firefly84 for some of the writeups!

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Hmm, I think I will need to add a town guide and where to find the people for the air mail quest to the FAQ section. I will also need to look into changing Eden's dialogue so that she doesn't mention people you've gotten already.

@canim: ZarethKnyght's tips are good, but Casiale is found in Koen near the elder's house. I'll make up a full list and put it in the FAQ section shortly.

@ZarethKnyght: The people are Rachel, Ithilsul, Mcdohl, Sultan Nicholas, Ironbug, Jolteon, and Azran/Eden.

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

You can just post them on the FAQ page if you'd like and I'll get them in there. Thank you!

hahaha, well I was just going off of what we've been shown/told so far...! But that's an interesting tidbit!

The color changes start at line 82. And my bad, the gray/white gauge would be 0 and 8. The colors correspond to the colors in your windowskin image in the graphics/system folder.

It does, it's the ATB gauge colors. The default fill color is almost the same color as the window so it just ends up looking invisible. If these are changed it'll look like the other gauges. If the colors are changed to say, 1 and 9 it'll make a white/gray gauge similar in color to old FF ATB gauges.

As for the actual screenshot, I like it! I think one of my only complaints about the whole Augurer thing is that summoning mundane monsters made it feel like you just had baby/weak summoners (I know it's for very obvious plot reasons that they don't get "real" summons). Giving them some impressive monsters to summon makes them feel a lot more powerful.

@Superes: I am glad you are enjoying the game! Do you mean characters? If so, yeah I think I did go a bit overboard in the sheer number, but I wanted to represent friends and many different FF jobs.

Sounds like you have a really solid team built! I really enjoy reading about all the different party setups people have made and strategies they use, there have been way more than I have expected. Keeping the Blood Sword around as an offhand for the healing is something I had thought of, but surprisingly you seem to be the first person who's done that.

As for difficulty, have you tried the game on hard with the battle speed turned up, or perhaps active mode? Most people have said it's fairly challenging if you adjust settings, but my goal wasn't really to make a super hard game. I also tried to make no grinding needed, but because of that if you do grind you'll level up really fast, yeah. I probably could have had monsters give less exp and had exp rewards from sidequests, but oh well hindsight is 20/20. A fair number of monsters do have status effects but I actually turned down the frequency with which they use them after testers reported it was really annoying having enemy groups spam status ailments on you. I might have lowered it a bit too much, sounds like.

Thanks for the feedback!

Final Fantasy: Legend of Balance

Not exactly game related, but I couldn't help but notice the fact that the current in-game seasonal event in FFXIV darn near canonizes a lot of the plot ideas in LoB.

Essentially, in the (silly) event your character meets Yoshida and he (and the rest of the dev team) are portrayed as extradimensional beings that tinker with the world behind the scenes.

Now I know the event is more meant to be a nod to the Developer Rooms of earlier FF games, but LoB kind of plays with the same idea, so it was fun to think that it could fit in with actual FFXIV.

EDIT:
@Firefly84: If you can't enter, you just need to come back a bit later. I might need to add something clarifying this.

You can't actually volunteer, the characters just say they'll think about it to get the emperor to stop bothering them, so no worries, you didn't miss anything. =)

That's a coliseum error, several items were renamed and I forgot to rename that fight I think. It will be fixed next patch.

You'll find out soon! Where you want to go is behind that, there's a teleporter.
