this game keeps getting less enjoyable the more I play.....
- I updated the patch; was able to beat the Orc Rogue (by luck, they ran away but they did seem a little easier), but the boss was just awful. I gave up after four attempts. Since I can't make any attempt to level up because I can't leave or run into random encounters, I gave up. Fortunately, I checked one of my older save states and I did have a save that I wasn't as far behind as I thought....
- I can't enter the area where you can get the 5th crystal. In my opinion, this area is the best to grind. I am much farther in the game and the enemies are giving me similar gold and exp. similar in the 5th crystal area.
- I can't enter the optional tower near the town that leads to the vampire area.
- This game does not give enough warnings about areas that you won't be able to return. Examples: Ogre invasion and the area where you can get 2nd to last star shard....
- I am likely stuck again in boss battle similar area like how you have Ogre invasion set up. I am likely going to need to send you my game file so you can teleport me out of this area so I can spend 60-1,000 hours to level grind (since enemies are NOT increasing exp. give out the further I progress). I may try tomorrow again although I am willing to bet that I won't be able to beat them. Once confusion is cast, I am typically screwed.....
- Hard mode is far easier in "Theia, The Crimson Escape" than this game.
- I am starting to make a case that the game's hardest mode in "Lunar Wish - Orb of Escape" is easier than this game.
- Honestly I was able to beat Grelka just fine and I was fresh out of 2nd Star Shard. It was rough but I pulled it off. Leveling up does help, but swing on over to the boss guide for more info.
- That's a tileset issue and it should be fixed now. Just re-download the patch.
- Same as above.
- I can understand why that's frustrating.
- I'm assuming you're talking about the slavers. Use Ki attacks. Poison and blindness helps too. Arc's Mana Barrier at the start will battle confusion.
- I've never played those two games mentioned, so I can't say.
But being real, if you really feel like this is unenjoyable, then perhaps consider passing on this game instead of "suffering" through it. Now keep in mind, the criticism has been helpful and I want to make this better, but there's no reason to keep going through something you aren't enjoying. Just saying.

Juilia is captured at this area I am in so I only have (I think) Arc.
Unfortunately, I feel that I am stuck, so I'll have to abandon this game until this is addressed. I can't get out of the area to at least attempt to level up; another save I am in the base camp but the three Orc Rogue's are nearby and always attack me; tried over 10 times with different tactics but always died).
Working on a patch right now. Should be uploaded within the next hour or two. Hopefully it should make the Orc Rogues much more manageable.
Word to the wise, it helps to have multiple saves so you won't run into situations like that.

The Orc Rogue in my opinion is severely overpowered. I am having minimal problems in the orc Camp except for the Orc Rogue. I sure would "love" to reduce their attack but the four attempts when I get stuck fighting three of them; all four times, they killed my character that can reduce their attack which ultimately results in "game over."
Noted. Will look into their attack power.
If it helps, it maybe worth trying to stock up on scrolls that reduce Attack power, defense, etc. And having a character with high Agility can use them. You can buy them at bergson (albeit it ain't cheap). If you managed to get the Wig from Nobunaga's castle, anyone who can use "General" armor, can wear it. It may help so the rogues will less likely target characters like Julia.

More stuff:
- The regular enemy bear seems overpowered, took a while to defeat, and in my opinion got crappy exp for it. Bunch of slimes in my opinion in the Japanese world in a cave also felt overpowered because of the status effects they inflict (stun/silence). I don't know if they gave good exp. or not (my guess not worth trying to beat it with the crap exp I am willing to bet you would get).
- On the Japanese world map area, it felt so uncompleted (when you go west instead of right when you get there) as I was able to walk over areas which I thought you could enter. I got to a cave which I entered, and when I exited, the world map remained "dark."
- Tested the Bear and while his defense was abit high, I was still able to beat it in about 3 - 4 turns. For the Bear use fire. If one of your characters has the Fire Weapon spell (It counts as a skill) then you'll be able to rip him apart. It helps to also lower it's Defense and Attack power.
For the repulsive slimes, I do agree that they use Paralyze too often and their silence rate on their attacks is abit too high. tested the three slime fight and I was able to beat the three of them in 2 turns (though I imagine it's a different story with 4 or 5 of them). Earth spells are the way to go. Arc's Mana Barrier will help protect the party against status ailments.
- Utefue is currently incomplete and I have stated it before. But I'm currently planning on making an add-on (And a separate small game centered around Ryoma), and once done, there will be more places in Utefue to explore and see. News of this will be shared soon.
And I tested the cave and it seemed to have worked just fine more me.

Couple more comments:
- When coming back to the town after obtaining a piece of the star rod, the boss you run into, their defense seemed to be overpowered. It took me 20 minutes to beat them, and I came close to dying a couple of times (due to my healers dying).
- During the above battle, at least three characters KI hasn't been increasing. I don't fully understand why it didn't increase during a boss battle.
I’m going to assume it’s Giant and Flea-man. Magic work well on Giant, while Flea-Man, Wind works well too. I also wrote a boss guide for more info, link is here:
https://rpgmaker.net/games/11246/BossGuide/
And it maybe possible you haven’t assigned stances for characters (or at least the right ones). To do that, go to skills, select character, and then highlight stances. Some preserve KI between battles while others are random at the start. There is an item you can find that makes the wearer preserve KI regardless of what stance you chose. And for stances that preserve KI, you can use KI increasing items in the item menu before battle to get ahead start.
Having said those, I’ll look into both situations. Thanks again for letting me know.
The Star Rod Chronicles
author=matskiauthor=MaskedNightmareIt happens while I was on the top floor of the vampire's castle when I walked through the mirror on the wall.author=matski- Not necessarily a bug, but more of an oversight. Basically the switch in the celler where you fight Sienna was intended to be the last switch. Which is when the cutscene activates. I'll play around with that abit just in case other players don't hit the celler switch last.
A couple of minor bugs:
- I hit the 4th red switch in vampire castle on the same floor the mirror was at. It didn't activate until I went back down the floor and back up is when the cutscene activated.
- On the top floor of vampire castle, I was able to walk through the mirror and walk on the walls.
- Now this one is abit confusing... I just tested it and that didn't happen. Do you know when this happens? The last bug you reported regarding walking on walls after the guard tells you to get away from the weapons storage house, did you keep going after or did you load a previous save?
Follow up question, Were you able to walk on walls even before?
Nevermind... I thought you meant the 3rd floor with the Giant Mirror and not Damon's throne room. My mistake. Ok, so it's a simple tileset error. Thanks for reporting this.

I was sailing on the west side of the island where you find the 3rd crystal (there is a dock) and heading to the area where I am suppose to go to the star rod not realizing that you can also sail on the east side initially.
Is there a way you can prevent using spell books on Mark?
Hmm... Habala shouldn't even have those Angler Eels. You only encounter Goldfish, Snapping fish and Jellyfish. Only thing that makes since is you might've docked on the west side of Grado, which is where those more dangerous fish are. Anyway, I think I adjusted the escape rate and I tested it on the angler eels and was able to escape with Are and Arc at lvl 13 and Nathan and Khashin at 12, and they were able to escpae 95% of the time. It is uploading as I am typing this.
There's no real way to prevent giving anyone spellbooks... You just need to carefully give them to your mages. Though it may interest you to know that there are some weapons and armor that can allow members who don't normally know how to cast spells, to cast magic.

Wow… I can't run away from these "Angular Eel's even though I ended up going in that area just so I can continue with the storyline...…
I am almost ready to claim that there is some balance issues. What makes this worse in my opinion is you can't save on the world map! I suggest considering either easier fleeing from enemies (don't matter how strong they are) or allow to save on the world map to counter this possible balance issue.
Some more bugs:
- Mark can learn spells by items but you won't have access to them
- When you try to enter a locked weapon shop, a guard comes and tells you to I guess move along. Somehow I was able to walk over him afterwards, and the scene repeated but the guard moved east. I was able to walk on top of buildings afterwards.
For what reason are you sailing at parts to encounter the Angler Eels? Besides treasure hunting, there's no real reason to deal with these earlier than Star Shard 3. Also, a guy at one of the merchant docks warns you about sailing too far north, south and east and tells you to stick to center and west portions of the map.
As for the bugs:
- Not a bug, Mark is only meant to learn his special versions of Fire... Hence why it's dubbed, "Pyromancy." So you're just wasting spellbooks on him.

I was just going to update the game... can someone else confirm that this is happening?
In 2.0, I can't run away from very strong enemies. Also, in one of the caves that leads to the 5th crystal, I am able to walk up on platforms that have the mine cart tracks next to it.
I've just tested it and yep, getting the error too. It's an easy fix and will have a fix ready in about 30 to 45 minutes. Sorry for the inconvenience.
And as for running away from stronger enemies, it helps to have a fair bit of AGI.
