I love RPG's. If an RPG was released in Australia, chances are I have played it. (Unfortunately that means I missed out on lots of good titles that were never released in Aus...)
I'm a web designer/developer and have enjoyed making Pirate Rush in RPGMaker VX Ace in my spare time. I like to make others happy and I'm hoping that the games I create will bring happiness and enjoyment to others.

The game won't end after x amount of days but the weather will definitely change from day to day. Not sure about seasonal changes at this point - it's definitely something I want to do if we can fit it in! Will see how we go :)

Hmm, kind of! But I don't think I would classify it as a survival game.
Keeping more food in your inventory to eat while you are out of town will allow you to stay out exploring for longer. While out of town, Toby's food will slowly decrease and when he runs out he is forced back to town to restock, rest and be ready to venture out again the next day.
He will be able to build waypoint locations where he can start each day's exploring from and each day different random events can occur even in places he's already been.

The gameplay of Toby's Island happens day-by-day. Each day you venture out onto the island and go back to your town at night (unless you run into a random event that may cause Toby to be unable to return home of course!)
You will be able to plant a variety of different fruits/vegetables/herbs in the plots and they will take a certain amount of days to grow enough to be able to pick them. These will have a variety of uses such as sustenance (to allow Toby's party to stay exploring the island longer), healing or giving your creatures buffs, and also as ingredients you can use to mix more potent items such as potions.

There are many similar looking artefacts like that scattered around the island - they have been there since long before Toby arrives, created by man a long time ago and their purpose will be revealed in the story :)
