Soma Union

I think the Text Sound option might be causing the crash. I turned it off and I have yet to experience anymore crashes. My reasoning is that it's not a default feature of RMVXA and the crash only seems to happen when dialogue is displayed.

Soma Union

I managed to beat the main story. The game is great overall, but it sometimes crashes in the middle of dialogue and even combat, and there's no crash log!

Spoiler for final boss:
Absolution's aesthetic throughout the duology is weird to me. It mainly takes various demonic forms or the form of a purple mask. However, it's final form looks like a teal angel. Maybe these different forms represent how Absolution has the potential to do good with its powers and nurture life, but it also has the potential to destroy all life. Maybe it used to be a benevolent angelic being before falling to evil and becoming a demon?

The final form also has six masks with different emotions, which might be related to how Form and Dissonance gathered orbs of emotion to gain its power. It makes me wonder if Absolution is actually be the source of all sentient life and emotions on Soma.

I found a passability issue where you can walk through the shops sign in Lamp Land. This is on version 1.0.2

I Vanquished the Empire as a Kid and Now the Economy is Crap

I did all I could in this demo.

- After you start the goblin town, the apothecary moves to Hamleton for his sidequest, but he won't sell the weakest healing item anymore, even after finishing his quest. This can potentially lead to resource issues for fighting the two optional bosses.
- There's a glitch that can happen after starting the goblin town, but before finishing both sidequests. If you enter the SW house in Bornham and exit, the town goes into its second form. Entering and exiting from any other location causes the town to return to its first form.
- IMO, the bonus boss of the Shamba Rainforest should have its own custom sprite rather than a generic slime sprite.
- For anyone who gets Rose's first skill item, I recommend learning the magic debuff, which will help in surviving the rainforest bonus boss.

Escalia

I managed to beat the 2021 demo.

- The boss's 2nd form can inflict mass confusion at a certain HP threshold, which can lead to the party members using percentage-based healing on the boss. The only way around this is to cast Fayhe's anti-confuse spell, but that only has a duration of 2 turns while the cooldown is 5 turns. That means the penalty for mistiming it is really steep and I don't think there's any anti-confuse equipment available yet.
- While the one-time unique guard command is an interesting mechanic, I really think there still needs to be a generic weaker guard skill, since it can be hard to predict enemy thresholds for their strongest attacks. Additionally, it could give the party members non-offensive options they could use in case they need to wait for skills to cool down before pushing bosses to their next HP threshold event, like with the demo boss's mass confusion skill.
- Symbol encounters can respawn behind the player, resulting in an ambush. This can make it a bit of a risk to decide whether or not to rush past a deactivated enemy.

Flip Dimensions

I think Kazuki started the chapter at level 35. Med was the lowest level party member at level 31.

Edit: I finished the chapter.

Somehow, every boss after Ilva was much easier on hard mode. Even Konton seems to have less DPS than her, though he is tankier.

Flip Dimensions

I'm in the 7th world now.

For some reason, Kamlyn only joins at level 28 despite Bolt joining at level 35.

The battle against Ilva and her clones has so little room for error on hard mode. Even with the Shields for Everybody dual skill, the clones still dealt a lot of damage with Shurikens. I had to reload a lot and pray to the RNG.

If you win that battle with Kazuki KOed, you get a game over after the next cutscene.

The description for Backup Energy got cut off. What does it say?

Flip Dimensions

I made it to the snow world. A minor nitpick about the plot:
To me, it seems strange that Queen Clara would be defeated so early and easily, since conquering Theiweth is Kazuki's main goal. While Kazuki is still in no position to take over the world due to his lack of an army, the queen's death is a huge blow to the human kingdom and undermines the need to use Star's wish. I feel it would be better if the kingdom and the queen were stronger than all the other dark lords to justify the effort to complete the quest. On the other hand, even if Kazuki could defeat the kingdom through normal means, he would still need the wish for things like minimizing bloodshed, brainwashing the population into accepting his rule, or bringing back his village.

Edit: Wait, nevermind.
The end of the snow world chapter has a massive twist that involves the above spoiler block.

Flip Dimensions

Statistically, what's the difference between all the difficulty levels? I feel like enemies are dealing slightly more damage on the lowest difficulty (-1) than the highest (1). Just to be sure, you didn't accidentally reverse all the difficulty settings?

Edit: I tested the Ogre boss on all three modes and the damage he dishes and takes is about the same on every difficulty. I think the difficulty slider isn't actually doing anything and that the game is always stuck on normal mode.

Luxaren Allure

I managed to finish the game.

* There are useful facilities scattered throughout non-town areas, which saves the player the trouble of returning to town.
* Late-game, the player can alchemize items that recover HP or MP after a battle, which is a good way to make the final dungeon's length more manageable.
* The game uses some kind of ATB/CTB, but there's no way to see the turn order or ATB bars. While the game is still beatable, it did cause me to take unnecessary precautions during boss battles because I can't be sure if Chisa will get her turn soon enough.
* Late game, I had a hard time accumulating medicinal powder, even with the accessory that boosts drop rates. Fortunately, the party's late-game healing abilities are powerful enough to save on items.
* I personally wish the final party consisted of all five characters. Lynette's not a nice person, but she does fill the role of debuffing the enemy and no one else seems to have water skills. Plus, I think if she fights alongside Aurelie for an entire dungeon, that could lead to some interesting character development.
* After the credits, Lynette claims I still owe her, which implies I missed something. Was there some secret sidequest for her? I already beat the three headed sea creature, so that can't be it.
* Why exactly did Darkloft want to overrun the world with demons? She seems to have some kind of darwinist mindset and I'm guessing she believes the demons deserve to conquer the world because they're stronger than humans and nagas. Plus, gaining the demons' power means she'll be at the top of the food chain.
* When Darkloft is defeated, you can see that she has blonde hair despite not possessing Aurelie. My guess is that she's related to Aurelie's family, who all have the Infernal element. Maybe Darkloft is the reason why Aurelie's mother warns her to use her powers for good.
