AMOONLESSNIGHT'S PROFILE
AMoonlessNight
284
Hi all, I'm A-Moonless-Night, but you can call me Shannyn.
The name 'A Moonless Night' comes from the title of a story my cousin and I wrote together when we were about fifteen. It was about two cousins getting lost in the woods on the night of a full moon. Werewolf shenanigans ensued. No idea where an actual moonless night factored into the equation though. Well, the name stuck and it has been my username for every website I've frequented for the last five or six years.
About me? Well, I'm from little old Godzone in the southern hemisphere. I love reading and writing, with a particular love for Stephen King novels and poetry. I'm an avid proofreader - seriously, I love it. I foam at the mouth about it.
I don't like MMORPGs or first-person shooters. I particularly love platformers (especially Metroidvanias), RPGs, action games and point-and-click adventures. Some of my favourite games include Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap, the Tenchu series, Suikoden I and II, the Chzo Mythos (aka the John Defoe Quadrilogy), Minecraft, Age Of Empires, An Untitled Story and the Pokemon series.

So cute! What tileset is that?
It's parallax so it's a mix of different things. I believe it's mostly Celianna (trees/plants and dirt), Mack/FSM (ground and houses) and RTP.

Yeah, it looked familiar to me too, so I did some digging. It -is- one of the first images to pop up when you google rpg maker maps.
Hah, so it is! It'll be from one of the old screenshot threads on the RPGMaker forum. That feels very strange. I guess I just didn't expect it to be popular?

I have no idea how this game ended up in my subscriptions and I definetly do not remember adding it but jesus it looks gorgeous
Thanks man. You probably subbed to it back in 2012, hahaha.

Pretty sure I saw this (or a similar screen) on DeviantArt in the past. Great use of elevation and subtle fog.
Oh god, I hope not. I've never posted anything like that on DeviantArt. I guess it was probably something similar, as those tiles are quite popular. But thanks!

The game is fun, cool and at least well thinked, but you should give the players the layout of the village, a map or something like that, the house's locations etc, the player is a villager too, i think it's only fair that we know what the village that we lives on looks like
Thanks man, good idea! I'm actually going to have a look at this game again sometime in the next couple of months and make a bunch of changes.
Werewolf Review
Thanks; I appreciate you taking the time to do the review! I'm surprised a little game like this got your attention.
All of your points are super helpful and I will definitely bear them in mind when I next get the chance to return to this game. Honestly, I made it in three days as a Christmas present for my cousin, so I'm pretty stoked with the amount of work I got done, and a lot of your points (especially regarding 'questioning' the villagers, them having more interesting stuff to do, etc.) bring up features I was planning to do originally, but cut out due to time constraints.
I do want to point out that none of the game uses RTP, except for the sound effects. The music and graphic sources are listed in the credits.
As I mentioned, this was a quick side project (which I do admit doesn't really do the game of Werewolf/Mafia much justice) while I work on another larger project, so hopefully I'll be able to fix a lot of the issues you brought up when I next work on this.
