Welcome HOME, dear puppeteer.

This world has been waiting some time for your arrival. The tables
of balance has been turned, and the fate of the world trusted
into a familiar face. The guardian of zone 0 himself, The Judge. Your job is to lead him on a new journey, masterful puppeteer.

This world is wrapped in an enigma, a shroud of confusion overlapped the
once peaceful zones. The true guardian of zone 0 himself has the very marrow
of his bones rattled with the feelings of Deja Vu. The day that he would become the marionette of the new world is coming, and upon your very arrival the world will undergo otherworldly changes.

Just what is going on in this world? Why has the switch been reset? Has The Judge forgotten everything that happened? Has the world been reversed to a state of pristine ignorance? Only you can find out, fateful puppeteer. You will travel the world, and meet the guardians you know so well. However, you will face enemies and foes unlike anything you've imagined. New allies will join your side, and new personalities will be explored. New places will be visited, a zone that defies the logic and reason of the world you know. Puzzles that expand beyond the game and into our world. You will become one with your puppet, and in your combined state you will bring the land to the closure it deserves. The fate, and the direction of that closure however, is up to the decisions you make. Choose wisely my friend, its up to you to save their HOME.

HOME is a non-canonical fangame created with the permission of Mortis Ghosts, the creator of OFF - the game from which HOME was inspired. You take control of The Judge in this project, and see the world through his eyes.

New characters and enemies are introduced in this story, with a combat system that's more threatening and challenging than OFF's style. HOME makes uses of the elements and status effect system and stretches is as far as possible. It's recommended you play Mortis Ghosts "OFF" before you touch this project, as this game and its entirety is connected and continued after OFF. Playing HOME without first playing OFF will not only lead to spoilers but will lead you to a path of confusion and detachment from the entire world.

The game features custom sprites, music, icons, sound effects, and battle animations. It uses as much fresh resources where and whenever possible.

In Memoriam

It is incredibly sad to have to break this news to those who may not know of it as yet, but the creator of this game, TheJudge, passed away recently.

As such we, the staff of RMN, are posting this blog informing all who knew him and enjoyed his games (both in the past and the future) of this tragedy.

Too soon we have lost another comrade to that final rest. May you remain forever in our hearts, Judge.

Rest in Peace

Hey, I thought that this was a really great game - I really enjoyed seeing the Judge's perspective of what was going on around him. This was a really well made game!

Kind of a side topic, I was wondering if you knew how to make a skill that analyses enemies like The Batter's "Wide Angle" or the Judge's "Cat's Eye" because I was thinking about making a game of my own and I think it's a very useful skill. It's for RPG Maker 2003, simply because I want side-on battling without need for scripts and it has a lot of features.

Please don't disregard this as cynical - I want to say again that I loved this game and wanted to thank you and the team for making it.

Open up the game in RPG Maker and look at the combat.
Each combat encounter has an event scripted to run when a switch is turned on.
Cat's Eye turns on that switch and the command plays.

Ah, thanks! I didn't realize on the combat screen the events is unique for each troop. I thought there needed to be some complicated way to detect what enemies are present. Thank you!
There's a glitch in the game where the stat increasing skills can be used outside of battle (like the ones increasing Attack, Defense, Spirit, and Agility.) I was wondering if anyone noticed this glitch?

That is because the skill also heals HP. It won't increase your stats thought outside of combat.

Great game :)
I'm glad you like it.
Hey, loving this game so far, but I have encountered a bug I cannot seem to fix (and it was not mentioned on this thread). When fighting Japhet everything runs smoothly until the point where Japhet transforms into his true form, at which point every time i attack or use a competence, the transformation scene re-ensues, with Alain's sprite staying on the screen while everyone else's disappears. Then the battle goes back to normal, but, again, every time i do something it redoes that. Is this supposed to happen? I have tried multiple things such as letting Alain die before the transformation (which only made the Judge's sprite stay during the transformation instead), transferring my save from block 1 to block 2, leveling up my party, switching equipment, exiting and retrying, redownloading, etc. Also Valeries levels up a lot every time. Please help I cannot get any farther without this issue being resolved. Thank you for your time, especially if perhaps I'm missing something obvious.

Okay, the bug has since been fixed. :3 redownload and everything should be good.
Question: can you tell me the code for the second room (japhet room) of the zone 4 puzzle on floor ten with the three guardian statues? I have tried probbaly 15 different combinations, including the obvious 1634, and nothing is working. Do I have to exit the room to reset it, perhaps? Thank you for your time.

So. This one is actually bugged. The correct answer is 1-2-6-3-4. I'm changing it now to 1-6-3-4. Not sure how that happened. Ugh.
...this isn't supposed to happen, right?

(I just posted the picture on tumblr, copied the image url, and deleted the post immediately thereafter. Somehow, the link still works. Clever, right?)

I can't pass through the wall because the bookshelf doesn't open, and two of the blocks fade and when i touch another one it just resets. (Yes, I redownloaded).
In fact, I even put in the bugged code in the old version and it works, so...

I thought I fixed that?! I must've not saved after I fixed that. Because I literally testplayed that puzzle and found that bug and was like. "Yeah I should fix that." but someone it didn't save properly? Ugh my luck. Well. I made sure to textplay the .rar I'm uploading to make sure the bug is fixed and it looks like its fixed now.
Okay so I just started playing this today after replaying OFF and I am at a loss.

How the heck do you get past this part?! No matter where I push the rocks around I can't get through!

move the top-left rock forward, then the one under it down 1 step and you're mostly done
