Welcome HOME, dear puppeteer.

This world has been waiting some time for your arrival. The tables
of balance has been turned, and the fate of the world trusted
into a familiar face. The guardian of zone 0 himself, The Judge. Your job is to lead him on a new journey, masterful puppeteer.

This world is wrapped in an enigma, a shroud of confusion overlapped the
once peaceful zones. The true guardian of zone 0 himself has the very marrow
of his bones rattled with the feelings of Deja Vu. The day that he would become the marionette of the new world is coming, and upon your very arrival the world will undergo otherworldly changes.

Just what is going on in this world? Why has the switch been reset? Has The Judge forgotten everything that happened? Has the world been reversed to a state of pristine ignorance? Only you can find out, fateful puppeteer. You will travel the world, and meet the guardians you know so well. However, you will face enemies and foes unlike anything you've imagined. New allies will join your side, and new personalities will be explored. New places will be visited, a zone that defies the logic and reason of the world you know. Puzzles that expand beyond the game and into our world. You will become one with your puppet, and in your combined state you will bring the land to the closure it deserves. The fate, and the direction of that closure however, is up to the decisions you make. Choose wisely my friend, its up to you to save their HOME.

HOME is a non-canonical fangame created with the permission of Mortis Ghosts, the creator of OFF - the game from which HOME was inspired. You take control of The Judge in this project, and see the world through his eyes.

New characters and enemies are introduced in this story, with a combat system that's more threatening and challenging than OFF's style. HOME makes uses of the elements and status effect system and stretches is as far as possible. It's recommended you play Mortis Ghosts "OFF" before you touch this project, as this game and its entirety is connected and continued after OFF. Playing HOME without first playing OFF will not only lead to spoilers but will lead you to a path of confusion and detachment from the entire world.

The game features custom sprites, music, icons, sound effects, and battle animations. It uses as much fresh resources where and whenever possible.

In Memoriam

It is incredibly sad to have to break this news to those who may not know of it as yet, but the creator of this game, TheJudge, passed away recently.

As such we, the staff of RMN, are posting this blog informing all who knew him and enjoyed his games (both in the past and the future) of this tragedy.

Too soon we have lost another comrade to that final rest. May you remain forever in our hearts, Judge.

Rest in Peace

I just downloaded the game, but when I tried to run it, it says system2 won't open. I generally have problems opening RPGmaker games (Ib and Off specifically) but I've been able to figure those out. I can't with this one, though >.> I don't suppose anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks ^^'
Copy system2 from OFF and place it within the System folder of HOME.
I've tried doing that (both having both system2 files merge (I reckoned I shouldn't change their names to stop it) and having Off's system2 replace Home's) and I'm still encountering the same error?
(Thanks for replying so fast btw)
Can you post a screenshot of the error? Also how recently did you download HOME? No one else has really reported this issue so I'm having a hard time figuring out whats going on. It's causing me to stress out because generally copying the system2 from OFF and the folder system 2 fixes the issue.
There's a good chance it's something to do with my computer
Here's the error I'm getting
It might have something to do with the errors I used to get opening Off (which opened Ib and said something like ?????black????? and Ib now say's something along the lines of black not found)
Anyway

I'm hoping that works...

It appears your computer isn't letting you open certain files? I know OFF and Ib both have panorama's that are simply called "Black" and if it can't open them then the project won't run. Check both the system and system2 folders within the HOME folder and tell me whats within them.

Make sure you run RPG_RT as an administrator.

You should only have 1 System 2 folder, and the system2 folder should have 1 object in it (system2) That might be an issue.

That doesn't seem to change anything, either... To be honest, it's probably something wrong specifically with my computer. I'll try and see what I can do about it opening files. Thank you so much for the help, though, I'm sorry to put you through all the trouble ^^'
Hello Judge. I am thoroughly enjoying your game however I am hindered by a certain glitch in zone 4.
After walking through the room full of statues of guardians in the library and answering the puzzle in the room with A1 written on the ground I end up finding myself in a similar room with A2 written on the ground. I attempt to enter the code for Japhet but the second button from the left (the 2 button) is unresponsive to my interactions, unlike the other buttons it does not play a noise or flash. I tried to enter the code ignoring the signs of no interact yet the bookcase did not budge.
Thank you for reading this and please fix this bug because I really want to finish the experience of playing your game. It seems like a worthy sequel to Off so far, and I'm sure Mortis himself would be proud.

Well. the 2nd switch doesn't do anything which is a bug, but its not a part of the code. The correct code is 1-6-3-4

Oh, if this is case I have ranting over spectres xD Thank you
Hello, TheJudge! First off, a spectacular game you've made. This is hands down my favorite OFF SpinOFF game that I've played in a while! But there is a peculiar bug that halted my progress of the game entirely, which is this:
In "The Courtroom," after selecting one of your feline friends to control when The Judge goes missing, I came across a puzzle with four darkened squares with a yellow cube in the center which has two branching paths. Upon entering the left corridor there were two Elson who give you items when the correct answer is chosen. Going to the right was the same deal. However, when trying to exit the room on the right, I couldn't exit the small room with both Elsen, so I was stuck. I tried getting both answers right, fighting both Elson, getting one item then fighting the other Elsen, but nothing worked.

I'm afraid to continue from a save before the puzzle because it's from a save point before entering Zone 4 for the first time. Hopefully it's just me who's doing it because I don't want to do all that work just to find the same bug again :\
Thank you Felix for giving such a great experience and the cheesiest last liner ever xD. However I must ask if there is more than one ending and if so how I can play it?
I have the grey and white keys, the smoke, metal, and place images as well as a chocolate fragment. I have defeated Sugar/Surce in battle (by the way I found Joslyn's collar does not actually restore her health in battle).

That aside I was extremely impressed with the artwork of the non-Off ghouls and music during Guardian battles. Keep up the great work!

Jozlyn's collar inflicts her with the status "restore" which does in fact heal her. I think enemies can use moves that remove the heal buff, but it is casted on her at the start of every battle. You're missing the meat image, its in the top of the zone 4 library, in the shop. There's more than one ending, they're all based on what choices you make with the guardians.

did you save when you entered that center room? Just re-download HOME. I fixed that bug, but it seems many people downloaded HOME before I found out about that bug.

Hmmm I have explored the store room and surrounding area and am yet to find the meat image. According to the outdated walkthrough (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP_qVoO05nc&list=PLBx8HIpWcnRPS6APv-s6FLq7ayeSo4EbF&index=35 ) the image is simply received by walking into the room but this is not the case for me. And yes I have double checked my inventory.

Really? A tree? Not Silent Hill? xD
Also can I say since you added the Queens addons she is the hardest boss. I'd rather face Zacharie, the Batter and Sugar all at once rather than her 0.0
Hi Felix, I'm the guy who asked permission for a French traslation of Home. I recently learnt what happened between you and Tech and I have to say I'm sorry you have to get through all this. You have all my support and I hope you'll manage in Home's "rewriting".

Seems like I did well to wait up before translating the game. With that kind of problem I wouldn't have the right to publish my translation anyway, and I know how long it takes to translate a game. (Even though I gained experience since my 1st translation).

On another note, a French RPG Maker website published an article about OFF on March 2015 and mentioned Home as one of the most popular fangames alongside Unknown :D You can read it here (French only).

Anyway, I wish you luck with your work on Home :)
