Part of the RPG Maker Classics Archive: an initiative to upload classic RM games so they are not forgotten.

Developed by: Secef
Date of Release: 2003

The Most Stupidest Game Ever Re-Duh! is a chuckle-heavy game that doesn't take itself too seriously. It follows the tale of Hubert aka Doug, and his release from prison to find himself bereft of a home. On a journey to reclaim his lost bundle of land, he makes many enemies and 'friends', not all in the expected places.

TMSGER was made in RM2K and focuses on making the player laugh. In fact, that is it's sole great point - a game that will cause you to chuckle at least once, even after years. Though there are some jokes that are straight-out taken from other places (Monty Python, for example) there's also many which are of Secef's creation and there's bound to be at least a few laughs for everyone here and there through-out the game.

Sadly, there's not much else that the game does well, besides writing. Though characters are certainly not dull, they do fall short of being well-rounded. The graphics are... best not discussed. The game was created early on and as with most joke games, it fell short of 'pretty', going instead for utilitarian map creation, using many different styles of graphics to create an environment that is ripe for laughter.

If you can get past the mish-mash of different graphics, you will find one of the most beloved classic games, well-remembered for the many laughs it deals out to the player.

ALL HAIL PAPA SMURF!

Documenting this game for preservation's sake! :)
I think this game is unplayable for me. First I got "RTP not found" error so I moved every folder in the RTP into the matching folders in the game (Backdrop, CharSet etc.). Then, I got harmony.dll not found error, I downloaded it from the RPG Tsukuru 2000 Utility and put it in the game folder. Then Direct Draw error, fixed it by running game in compatibility mode for Windows 7 as I learned from another site. Then, upon pressing start, got "Cannot find file vehicle" error. I went into the files and renamed "Vehicles" to "vehicle". Then pressed start again and got "Cannot find file chara1" error. I couldn't find any file named chara1 and didn't know which file I should rename to chara1 so I gave up.

I don't know how other people are getting this to run in 2022.
@Lookatyou1: Your problem might be that you got the official rmweb RTP and not the unofficial one. The RTP link you posted should have all the files you need to run it, I'm assuming you only just grabbed the harmony.dll file but it helps to grab the rest of the files and just dump them in the RTP folder directly in C:\Program Files (x86)\ASCII\RPG2000\RTP or something.

Thank you! I tried using EasyRPG a while ago but I didn't know how to use it. I finally figured out how and can now play this and many other games.

Unfortunately, like some other players mentioned, I am now stuck at the airship dock section (can't go up the ladder, Map0087 according to the EasyRPG log). But pretty cool game!
