Restoring this for history's sake.

It's part of the history of the site, so we might as well keep it public. And who knows? Maybe someday a bunch of us can pick it up again. A few attempts have been made, but nothing really gained much traction. I really enjoyed the world we were setting up, so who knows what the future will bring?

As for me, most of my focus has been on Legion Saga DX and some other stuff, so I've barely even thought of old relics like this one. 'Tis a pity.

Either way, I hope you enjoy the first chapter if you do get around to playing it.

Progress Report

Unchain the past for it is the future.

that's my attempt at being clever or whatever

So yeah, this is a chain game made with VX Ace RTP and a ton of scripts (Yanfly etc etc.). It's gonna be driven by characters, puzzles, lore, and exploration. The first chapter was available for download but I took it down to polish it (and the other two chapters that were already made). But I'm also working on Legion Saga DX and a -=SUPER TOP SECRET COMMERCIAL GAME=- so I can't really guarantee that I'll be leading this project after the first 3 chapters are up.

I'm mostly putting out feelers to see if anyone who was interested in this chain game in the past would still be interested now. We're aiming for pretty decent quality levels here but I don't expect Undertale.

Buglist

Due to the nature of Chain Games, we'll be compiling a list of outstanding bugs here to make sure they are tracked and resolved without getting lost in the shuffle.

* You cannot push a boulder when standing on a switch due to the "action key" event on the switch.

Roth Forest:
* When giving the fairy a Royal Jelly, you do not get your free heal.

Progress Report

Chapters 2 and 3 are in production!

Great news, guys! We've off to a fast start: I just updated the download with a more polished Chapter 1:

* First boss has been nerfed slightly.
* Passability glitches fixed.
* Gamebreaker fixed.
* Switch bug wasn't fixed but we'll fix it upon Chapter 2's release.

I have officially handed off the project to Benny, who is working on Chapter 2. In addition, Seacliff is working on Chapter 3 simultaneously, using a different range of switches and variables to prevent conflict.

The great part about the format of the first 4 chapters is they can be worked on at the same time, because they each take place at the same time during the story and with a different main character. In this way, we can consider the first 4 chapters to be a sort of giant prologue - an introduction to our four heroes and the plot.

I have also started to work on one of the major areas in Chapter 5 (Geo Island). That will be a collaborative chapter amongst those of us who worked on the first four chapters (myself, Benny, Seacliff, and Archeia). After that, all chapters are open!

Announcement

Chapter 1 is complete!

I have finished Chapter 1! It just needs playtesting and polish. Expect a download in the coming days :)

The chapter is about 70-80 minutes long, give or take. It sets up a lot of things. I might add a cutscene or two when I go and polish the dialogue. But either way, the chapter is essentially complete and some people are playtesting!

I also made a few additions to the city, even though it doesn't factor into Chapter 1.

I think that's pretty much it. Short blog...mostly an announcement. Stay tuned!
