Mission Mark: Nuclear Bomb

Just a video showing the battle against the first Mission Mark, the Nuclear Bomb. You are forced to take on this mission while in Mysidia, but it might be a good idea to leave the Nuclear Bomb alone until you're stronger. Mission Mark enemies are unique because most of them can be accessed long before the party is capable of handling them easily.

Consider them challenge battles; how early can you defeat them? In this case, the Nuclear Bomb CAN be beat at a low level, so long as Vicks has NulBlaze. In the video, luck isn't on the party's side, as NulBlaze wears off at the worst possible moment.

Mission Mark enemies, like they did in games like Final Fantasy XII, gain power when they are weakened, doubling in level. It's a good idea to mount a solid offense once you've lowered their HP to ensure a quick victory. Mission Mark enemies DO NOT enter Crisis Mode (covered in another blog) so their battle patterns do not change when they gain strength.

I will put up another video showcasing the party accepting the mission, and completing it.

Also, this is Mt. Mysidia's entrance in the video. Most of the dungeon is complete and ready to go, so I'll probably put up another video showing the party passing through.

Aaaaaand here is the entire sequence of accepting the mission, winning the battle, and claiming the reward. This is how most Missions will be accessed and completed.

Wedge...So cute portrait.

Also, is the location theme for Mt. Mysidia is "People of the Northern Mountain" from Final Fantasy X? And its battle theme Final Fantasy VIII's "Don't Be Afraid" remix from Dissidia 012? And that NulBlaze is awfully costy and cheap against that Nuclear Bomb. "P
This game has in technical progress what it lacks in epicness. This monster should be called "Firecracker" and not "Nuclear Bomb".

A monster called Nuclear Bomb should deal you damage just by being in the same map as it because of the "intense heat", forcing you to wear map damage reduction armor and cast regen in battle. It should look like a blinding spot of light and take 1/4 of the screen (or start small and grow as you damage it). And it should laugh at your NullBlaze spells. :|

Edit: @Noel_Kreiss: I'm sorry, man. Did I step on your favorite game? =(

Had the monster reached 100 TP, you'd have seen some fireworks. =P I would love to add some specific counters to enemies but so far, Victor Sant's Countering scripts don't seem to work well with his latest batch of script updates.

EDIT: One other thing, this fight isn't meant to be overly difficult. It's the FIRST mission. It should be a little easy if you play it right. =)
Also, I think that alterego fails to understand the term "final fantasy". ;P
I updated Nuclear Bomb's AI a bit. The Radiation attack now removes NulBlaze from the target, and the Detonate attack is no longer Fire-elemental, it's Unblockable. Doesn't make the battle too much harder, but it may create some panic moments to revive dead party members.
i could be way off topic here but you could add some unique bonuses for clearing mission marks, vanity items, discounts, stuff like that... nothing to fancy; i know i would be more inclined to complete mission marks if they game something other then money
...Shouldn't he fall down vertically on enemies when he uses Jump? Here he just glides down diagonally.

Jump was a vertical descent in Final Fantasy VI. In both Final Fantasy IV and Complete Collection, it is a diagonal descent. There is no "right" way. I like the diagonal one better, so that's the one that will be used.
Yeah, just because it was that way, or that you like it better that way, doesn't mean you have to be unrealistic. I know it's Final FANTASY but there is a bit of reality in there.
No. There isn't. It's a video game where wizard conjure up nuclear explosions, Crystals that govern the entire world and giant chickens race each other. Let's not nitpick the little details, shall we?
There are humans. I'm pretty sure humans have nothing FANTAStic about them.
Ok so by that logic, magic shouldn't be usable and everyone should just spam the attack command over and over since they're "just humans." Honestly, just stop. If you want realism, there's this thin called "real life" that would probably fill that gap. This is a video ame. Crazy stuff will happen in it. Very unrealistic things. That includes how high, fast, and what angles people can jump in. Get over it.

BRB gotta remove Phoenix Feathers because they're not realistic.
hahahalol lol lol Seriously? You said there is no realism at all. I simply said they being human is realistic enough.

Omg you should totally remove the whole game because it's not realistic right? I mean, following my "logic" you should totally do that, right? /sarcasm

By the way, just because it's so unrealistic doesn't mean you have to make everything as impossible as you can.
He can still add time paradoxes to make game even less/more realistic. ;P

if i had an allowance, i would give it to rmn

Mysidia's music sounds quite bad...
Is it because the instruments aren't realistic enough? :P
Optional hard as hell shit is awesome because you feel like such a champ when you actually beat it early on (dragon cliff in FFIX is the most stand out memory of that for me).
