This is the real deal. a game that I'll be pouring my heart and soul into as my best work. it is basically the story of a young paladin (a holy knight) and his wise teacher whom is a swordmaster camping out near a town one night after training, only to find his wise teacher missing by morn (morning). After finding this event passes, he travels onward towards the closest town in search of answers.also, along the way he meets new friends and is confronted by a dark and powerful force for which will be his greatest challenge ever, even with the help of his new friends...

my journey in this creative world so far.

so far I have a battle system ( thanks to radnen), an intro and begining storyline inputed on my game file.
a menu is being attempted in the process (doesn't work right, right now) and I've put in some treasure chest for players to open (they open up but nothings in there). also I just finished adding some music I've made earlier this month which to me sounds kinda decent (but needs work). I'm, as we speak, working on my first village (houses and all). when I'm done with the village, I shall upload a pic for you all to judge.
also, I'm creating my own world map, which personally, I think the destination icons are a bit small so I'm trying to fix that (it only shows a forest, a village, and a half -done kingdom). I knew when I first considered this engine, it would be a challenge, so no matter how bad the situation gets, I'm going to press on!

I actually think that is a cool story. I mean, it follows a nice "hero's role" type journey where you have the student and master, but in this case its the student looking for his master and in that regard he becomes a hero after the various trials and tribulations.

Wish you the best of luck. Sphere is a hard system to get used to!

Sure, I wouldn't mind. Also, if you need anything in the future just ask. I've got a lot of codes and what-not under my belt, I'm like a living breathing Sphere repository of knowledge. ;)
Well, I certainly don't want to turn you over to the ilk of RPGMaker! :P

you don't have to worry about that becuase I've found the sphere community to be quite the welcome wagon. also, I always wanted to create my own game the old fashioned way, thats why I chose sphere first (even though there were times where it got so confusing I went to the point of even considering rpgmaker, but that was on my first week to so it was to be expected... :) ).
Heya bud, I'm an old sphere user myself, best word of advice would just be not to get swamped in scripting. If you're makin the game from scratch then take a break and maybe work on some art/music/story dev/character dev or something of the like. And I'm sure by now you've noticed that small bugs do come up, so make good use of the community and ask questions, trust me it's not annoying to us, anyone will tell you that teaching is one of the best ways to really master something. So, with that said, stay motivated and I'll be one more person who tries your game out :) GL!
