The story so far...

Act 1: The Gathering

Fifty years after the defeat of the tyrant god, Set, the world of Rie rests in a state of idle peace. However, things are not as peaceful as they seem. A man who calls himself the Master of Souls has made a bargain with a demon lord Eivion - one thousand human souls in exchange for demonic immortality and overwhelming power. This prophecy has set itself in motion, ticking down soul by soul. Now the end is near. And where are the only six people in the world who have the capability to stop the Master of Souls before the world is lost forever? They are each being slowly lured to the CIty of Tar' Jahri, where they will be gathered together unaware of their fates.

Join Aeon and his allies and enemies as they head toward Tar' Jahri, with one question tugging on the back of their minds

Who or what is the Master of Souls?

Act 2: The Suffering

The Master of Souls has begun to capture the world of Rie. Slowly, but surely, the great nations of the world have fallen to him: The frozen kingdom of Ineldal; the Faerie Land of Lenria, the desert city of Septia, and the jungles of Tar' Jahri have all been destroyed, now all that stands in his path to destroy the Gods themselves is the capital city of Pendonia. And where are the heroes who are destined to stop him? They are desperately searching for an escape from the underworld.

Help Aeon and his band of adventurers escape from the underworld, even when faced with terrible perils such as a plague of Basalisks, a cursed orb of power, and an ancient sorcerer, bent on destroying mortals.

Act 3: The Ending
After an impossible escape from their prison, Aeon and his allies return to the surface world only to find their homes in ruin. Thrusen's devastating war has consumed nearly all the kingdoms of Rie leaving a small rebel army in Pendonia. The time has come for the chosen ones to start fighting back. Will the heroes free the world's kingdoms and topple this dictator, or will the world fall to darkness in his evil grip?

Play as Aeon, Lidya, Christina, and many others in the final chapter of their adventure as they fight against the world itself to liberate millions of innocent people. But just what is the Master of Souls' final plan? And is it too late to stop him?

The Real Release

So, for real this time: let's talk about the full game.
Due to a couple of factors the game obviously was not in shape for release four months ago. It was a combination of a busy life, lots of bugs, testers having difficulty, and my lack of internet connection. But that's behind us now!
Fortunately, we've been able to exceed the release date (October), and instead are releasing the third and final act of the Master of Souls now!
As I mentioned before in the other blog, the game consists (all three acts in total) of a solid 20-30 hours of gameplay, 50+ quests, and 11 playable characters (not all at the same time). The final act will likely be released sometime today or tomorrow.
One last little tidbit of food for thought, because of all of the recent trouble with the game some of the areas were tested less vigorously than others. This means that essentially at the end of the game, expect a few more bugs. I doubt there will be too many, but if you find a bug PLEASE post it here on this blog. I'll deal with it as soon as I can.

Some final words? I guess I'd like to just thank the community here for all of the support and understanding that I've received over the course of this ridiculously long project. RMN really is a great place and a great community. As always, I hope that you all enjoy the game!

The only thing I can equip are the weapons...I have armor, shields, helmet but none of these will equip.

Equipment might be character (or class) specific for this game. Don't take my word on this, however, as it's been forever since I've played this game.

Or maybe it just feels like it's been forever since I've played this game?
Hmmm, equipment is class specific for this. For example, a character who is currently using magic will not be able to wear large heavy armor. They'll be wearing cloaks or light cloth armor, just like an agility based fighter (Theif) Basically, if you're in the first chapter, don't get your hopes too high for using heavy armor. What armor are you trying to equip, and to which character?
Lets see.......
AEON GEOMANCER level 5
PETE THIEF level 5

The items I found which cant be equipped:
WOODEN SHIELD
DENTED IRON HELMET
COTTON ARMOR
SHIELD ARMOR

I have yet to fight past the big dog area.
I can understand certain classes not being able to equip certain things...but the items listed seem so very basic for this early part of the game and with the characters, that it seems a simple shield and simple armor are presented to be worn.
When I try and equip one of these items,it bounces back and forth. As I mentioned I can equip weapons.
Did I miss where you can get rid of the pointer?
Actually I just went back and was able to beat the dog section but Pete was poisoned and before I could find the healing salve, he died so I decided to go all the back to the beginning to the tent and heal up etc. But after exiting the cave where the big dog was initially, I get a repeat of the dialogue and I cant go back to the tent. Not only that, but at that point the game freezes.
Ah, the infamous mouse pointer :) Unfortunately, I've tried playing with the script and it refuses to go away. It always messes up menues and such (Be especially careful when you save) My advice, if you are doing anything in a menu, move the mouse to the top right hand corner so it isn't visable, and it shouldn't affect things. With the pointer out of the way, I think Aeon can only equip the Cotton armor out of all that, and Pete should be able to equip everythin else. As for the game freeze, that's an odd one. I've never heard of that happening before... I suppose you should try looking for the salve again (It's in a chest in the right hand part of the cave) and if Pete's health gets too low, you can use Auto-Bandage to heal him out of battle.
I just found the Armor Goodies Cave, and I am wondering how many of these caves are available in Act II?
i am stuck at inelda..after i find the dragons on top of fuar mountains i have to find a way to the city for attack but no idea wat to do...i checked the door in the area which is locked and all aeon says is we need a key to enter. no clue of where to find key if that is only way to move ahead in the game. any1 know?
There was a side quest you had to complete earlier in order to access the cave.

SPOILER:

In the northwest district of Septia there is a man who claims he has been cursed with blindness by a witch. He asks you to find the potion that will cure him in the Hardenburg Inn. Upon arrival you are told that the witch who cursed him beat you to it and you must go to her (The witch is Hazel who lives in the swamp north of Eldenstar). She says she will remove the curse, but only if you give her something expensive. The pendant from the Han Bloom quest line will do just nicely :) (If you haven't got the pendant, you can dig it up in one of the homes in Western Pendonia, but only if you have found the shovel in the mountains first!) I know that's a little bit complicated, but if you complete the quest than you'll have the key for the door, and you'll be able to go from there!
I've run into a bug I think in act 1 during chapter 3, i'm trying to pass through some mountains and fight 2 witches but after I kill them, they're still standing there and I can't get past them which means I can't proceed with the game.

aaaahhhhhhhh :)

What do I need to download to play MoS ???

Do I hit the Gray button or do I have to download Act III and the Act III patch ??
OR do I have to download all the Acts ???

Sorry, I'm a bit of a non-nerd when it comes to computers :)

Thanks in advance....

My best guess is that you'd go to the "Downloads" tab, and select the Act 3 patch. That should give you the game up to Act 3, with whatever bug fixes that were applied.
alexjones: This was definitely a problem reported before... Make sure you download the Act III download (Which has all three acts in it) the bug doesn't exist in that version to the best of my knowledge.

Linkis: Downloading the Act III patch would give you all three acts plus the patch for Act III. All you have to do is play the game included in that download (after installing the RTP if you don't already have it) and enjoy!

EDIT: Didn't see Marrend's post there. Yes, do exactly what he described :)

What, exactly, happens when you try and run the game? Does a window open? Does the window appear to do anything before it closes?

Not that I have any ideas of how to fix this, but, it might help Evergaurd figure stuff out.
Marrend is right here. If a window opens, I'm wondering if you're getting a script error message? If no window at all is opening, it may be worth a shot to redownload. Does it give a missing RTP message even though you have downloaded the RTP? And last but not least, did you download Act III or the patch for Act III.

Hm, I think I might have found the problem. I'll try to get a new download up in the next few days.

EDIT: For the time being, I've found a way for you to fix the problem! In the game folder there is a "Configuration Settings" icon also titled "Game" (It looks like a piece of paper with a gear next to it). If you click on this and change RGSS104E to RGSS102E then it will work with the RTP. I'll add a new download soon with that error fixed, but for those who have already downloaded it there is no need to wait!
-------

I think I found a solution, I changed configuration settings of the game from 104 E dll to 102 E Dll. And it's help, game working. Finally I can enjoy it:))
But u better change it in ur future games.
