I want to know is this accurate? My game has been out like 2 or 3 months, and its gaining momentum like a snowball. I don't think I believe it. Is there a temporary glitch in the website stats?
I think the snowball is caused by your recent blog post boasting the download rates causing people to be curious. There's also the fact that your game has an average 4 star rating. Pretty sure there's a large group of anonymous people who just look for games with the highest digital stars. This is just my speculation though.
So I did a google for "Epiquest RPG"
- found this site
- found crankeye (i posted it)
- found the website that posted it without permission and took it down
- found a review here at this site
- very crappy unmade game with the same name from 2008 (plotting stages)
- another game with the same name from 2004 (plotting stages)
- the crappy game from 2008
- another website with my game and videos! wow, posted 86 days ago, full of ads and zero info other than vids
- my youtube channel
- Roblox download with the same name
- Positive comment on a forum:
Thanks for posting the site, Over_Cloud. I downloaded and played EpiQuest (for several days running)...a game that plays much like the Dragon Warrior/Quest and Final Fantasy games of old. I liked it, save for the fact that as your characters become stronger, so too do your enemies, grrrrr, lol. I am heading back to download another (some good free RPGs listed). Thanks again.
Rush.
- A website has my game posted... its not in English, I think it might be middle eastern??? They have 2 download links, but neither download is one of mine.
- Another website in the same language... with chesty pictures in ads. I feel like my computer just caught a virus from being there! However, according to this it looks like my game was favorited 3,000 times?
- Facebook with my game
- 2008 Epiquest
- A german website talking about a totally different game.
- Another arabic website. It looks like my game got 10,000 thumbs ups??? I have to be reading this wrong. Ah ha!!! Its Russian! Its 10,000 downloads? Weird and unbelievable.
Now that I know its Russian, lets go back to the 2 previous websites.

- ummm: If you found a new version of the game EpiQuest, or to crack it, patch, levelpak, mod, userbar, or want to add your size - please use this button.
- Their description of my game: The name of the game speaks for itself - an epic RPG adventure party in the best traditions of the genre. A sea of opportunities, an excellent plot and design of the world, coupled with a nice graphics, balanced gameplay. All together - and there EpiQuest.
- Excellent plot??? Rusians love my game! :-)
- The game received very high marks from critics and won several prizes Misao Award - the largest competition of games on engine RPG Maker
- One of the only comments about the game: downloaded and set, played, like it) Although I do quite a bit (or not?) Played in games of this genre, but so far like it) It seems, nothing super-natural: I run on a shaft, foam spiders, goblins, which a pudding ... но Ñто ж забава :D Ðу а по поводу оценки... But that's fun: D Oh and about the evaluation ... hmm, probably worthwhile to evaluate later for objectivity;)
Now for the website I swear gave my computer STDs:
- says the same things.
Back to the list:
- Someone saying he got ideas from my game and linked it
- A website wondering "What is an RPG?" gives my game as an example
- Asian website with my game. It has one of my videos... BUT has their watermark at the top. Awesome.
- More talk about the 2004 Epiquest

I'm done looking.
I used to google my games all the time. The foreign sites are the reason Onyx and Total Chaos almost have 10,000 downloads each. They also gave both games really good scores.
I'm almost certain everyone who post their games outside of the RM community has this experience.

I am trying to track the places that my game has been posted. http://rpgmaker.net/games/82/distribution/
...and I just did a search again!
Brothersoft.com has just posted Hellion and Befuddle Quest 4 Dead! Lulz.

I like how Craze is listed as a publisher, I guess it's because they just looked at his list of games and saw Hellion on the list.
RMN tracks a lot of data using Google Analytics. In the future, I am hoping to allow devs to also access this data. I'll go check in on your game and see what the scoop is.
Come to think of it... my game has a link to the site in the game. So maybe if there are really 10,000 downloads in Russia that might do it. I'm even more doubtful about the Russian stats, but who knows. Maybe they don't have any RPGs or games in the country period.
Thanks for taking a look into it ;-)
