author=SgtMettoolauthor=KevincalanorEverlong and its recent mega-update is currently one of the most-discussed games on the site, and that's using a lot of stock assets and even still has a few rips in it. It's certainly not impossible.
A wild question appears though.
As front-page projects grow on awesomeness, featuring deep stories, innovative scripts and top-tier graphics. The RTP assets and that "keep calm, keep simple and finish it" theory starts to seem off-place and lack luster.
That game is still being updated?! Awesome!
I sometimes am discouraged when I see all of the awesome games on the front page, too. However, I truly believe that a game will get noticed if it's truly great even if it doesn't feature stunning artwork and jawdropping graphics. I believe that my game's strengths will be enough for it to hold its own. Plus, it seems that ultra large high fantasy epics aren't been made quite as often in the RPG Maker scene as they used to. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I believe there's still a market for it.
