Does This Sound Too Ambitious?

Shouldn't you try using Ace before deciding it as your platform? Just because a lot of people praise it doesn't mean it'll be great for you. You should try it before committing yourself to making it on Ace.
Also, it takes hours and hours of work to make an RPG. So there's no point in announcing it before completing most of it

Save a Tree, Don't Cover the Night 2012

Fuck Kony. I support anything that leads directly or indirectly to him getting shot in the face.

Jason Russell is an asshole, granted. I'm fairly certain Kony is a much bigger asshole.

There are better things to be an activist about, probably; there are certainly worse.

But Kony has absolutely no power now. It's a waster of time to actually focus on him instead of, say, the President with powers who's in power and also uses child soldiers

Hi

Thanks for the welcome
Not much, too lazy with exams. I'm done with all the mapping, all of 12 main maps since it's a small one but since you have to return all the time, the eventing gets annoying and has to be checked every 10 seconds to see that the old equipment is updated and the dialogues changed. Plus, to make sure some old events don't happen again. And that's considering that new cutscenes have to happen every time you visit. Well, it's fun though

Hi

Thanks, you guys
I will share my game here when I release it but not until then since it might take long. What happened was that the first game I was making, I planned 15-16 characters, all having their arcs, with their own stories. But then I realised that I should make a game first, a smaller one that introduces the world first before I release the second part.
So I began working on the second game which only allows you to level up some 15 levels since it's just a small part of the story of the world and how it changed from being in the ownership of Demons to being in the ownership of humans. But as I started working on the second one, I realised my idea of 15 levels would stay but I needed it longer as the arc becomes unbelievably stupid in a short time and makes sense over a long time since you can't have 4-5 things happening at the same time without one affecting the other.
So yeah, I might share the story here but not till it's complete. Plus, I have my board exams which I must get pretty good marks in for my career so game making has taken a back seat. That's one of the reasons I joined, so that it would motivate me to make my games, plus the ideas here since primarily I write stories more than work on making games
But I'm glad that my first game is over 90% complete but I can't release it till I finish the second one

How does this futuristic setting sound?

Well, your solar panels make no sense. Since the world is polluted to extreme levels, sunlight won't be able to pierce through the pollution and solar panels can't exist. If sunlight can't pierce through, plants can't exist. If plants can't exists, humans can't exist. You might want to change the word pollution to something like poisonous air. For example, you could say there was a large outbreak of carbon monoxide

Lets write a story

I never would run faster than a chicken even after breakfast. Awkwardly I combust into a sun bomb so dismally that everyone flees from the flabbergasted crowd into a restaurant

Secret content: How hidden is too hidden?

author=masterofmayhem
Actually it kind of is. From a purely player perspective, if all that spell dose is kill your own party I would never use it! Even if it did massive damage to the enemy as well (and I mean insta kill everything) I still wouldn’t touch it with a 12 foot pole. I don’t even think the idea of using Auto-life before hand would even occur to me (although it would to some people). I just wouldn’t use it period, especially when I have much more reliable ways of killing things.

Exactly, even if it did say 10000 damage to all enemies and killed even ONE member, I wouldn't use it unless desperate

Secret content: How hidden is too hidden?

I think that if there's going to be a lot of hidden content, we need to know that there's going to be hidden content early on in the game. I've seen a lot of games in which it's never mentioned that there's hidden object in the game at all. I'm not going to trawl through a walkthrough and expose myself to spoilers to find out whether there's bonus content or not.
Once that's done, hidden doesn't mean impossible to find. For example, the case mentioned in the first place.
Another example is in The Way. The bonus from using Scatha's The Woman Within is something that you have to find out through the walkthrough. However, since you're highly likely to use the skill, it's not that bad but what makes it bad is the chance. If you're unlucky, you won't get it, ever.
In my opinion, I won't care if you can only find it at one specific time as long as that specific time doesn't have a 1 in 10 chance.
Also, is shouldn't be an invisible chest hidden on an tileset that is always non-passable which gives you no clue. Case in point here are the Goodie caves in the Aveyond series. They're cheats but you can get the picture that finding that there's bonus content there is impossible for the average gamer unless you interact with everything

Hi

Thanks guys!

Hi

Hi, I'm new, I've wanted to join for some time but never bothered. I love playing RPG's and am working on two games too (Though both of them are unlikely to be completed soon, too lazy)
