hey, can someone help me out? what's the use of various objects like dust pan that i haven't used through the whole game? there must be a secret somewehre....hints?
Game's dev here. Thanks for playing my game!
There are a few items that are non-key items. They don't do much, besides a random event here and there that's just for fun. But their main purpose? Well, I won't say too much, but you should definitely try throwing them in the Fountain ;D

A lot better <3 Way less unnecessary space
Thanks again for the feedback!
I went back and made most maps smaller. I left a few of the hallways big because certain events that happen would've been a nightmare to scale down, but I also added a little more clutter. I'm working on putting together a tileset that'll really help the thing shine; in retrospect I probably should've parallax mapped the whole game, but I'm still pretty new at this.

Hey I did a Let's Try on my Twitch channel!
Here's the youtube vid!

Hey, thanks for trying my game! I got some good feedback from watching this.
I've been talked to about the maps being too large and too empty before, and it's something I'm actively working on (hoping to finish in the next few days, actually). I'm also looking into making a few of the encounters less text-based (for what it's worth, it's only like that at the start--you didn't get to any of my animations or parallax mapping or more complex encounters, I promise there's some really cool, not-lazy things going on in this game, lol).
The only thing I can really disagree with is that you have to "re-play the entire game" after getting caught that first time. You played what would usually be the first five minutes of the game, just the part that establishes the "rules" (not that I'm complaining; you were pausing to give me advice). It normally doesn't take a half hour to get to that point (and thus you're only re-playing the first few rooms, and even then, things change when you get back inside--after that first time, all of the random encounters are turned on, and there are no more forced trips outside).
A few of the things you commented on are the way they are for reasons that unfold as part of the story, but are valid criticism all the same; I can do a better job of presenting them, and I've already got a few ideas of how to do it, thanks to watching people play it.
So again, thanks for giving it a shot and for giving me some useful critique. I'm working on what I'm calling version 2.0, and I hope you'll give it another shot once it's finished, because I'll hopefully have created something that'll knock your socks off! Or at least be a little more engaging or effective in their presentation :P
Also, apologies if I seem defensive--I really do appreciate the feedback and I am taking it to heart. I just am also a little bummed you stopped where you did, because it was right before things really take off. But that's another lesson for me to learn: first impressions can be everything, so my beginnings really need to shine.
Thanks again!

Hey...how do you save? (yeah I'm a dumbass)
Press escape or X to bring up the menu, then choose "Save".
If there's an active monster in the room you can't save; I had some problems happen when I saved and then got got and loaded the file back up, so I just disable saving while monsters are present. Should work all other times though.
Hinterland Review
Hey, thanks for reminding me about the Royal tileset! I did indeed forget to drop a credit in there. I'm getting ready to upload an update now, it'll make a few minor gameplay changes as well.
Thanks again for the constructive criticism. I'm looking over my maps and playing around, trying to see if I can find a better balance between feeling desolate/isolated and needlessly empty. I might use a full map overhaul to get myself acquainted with MV when it comes out.
Looking forward to the let's play.
Can I make a quick request? Your review has a few spoilers, which I'm okay with, but could you possibly add a quick spoiler warning to it?
Thanks again for everything!

You should make the map a bit smaller, there is too much empty space. You can do it like this instead:
It has everything your map also does, and it is way smaller.
Also, I don't understand the purpose of those curtains. They looks wrong and buggy, maybe putting a window below them would be wise.
Hey, sorry it took me so long to reply on here!
Just wanted to say thanks for the feedback. Regarding room size, I'm not sure there's a lot I can do for this particular game (need to leave the player enough room to escape the monsters, though there is something to be said about cramped spaces, I think) but I'll definitely keep it in mind for future projects, at least. Believable maps are something I'm definitely struggling with.
How did you get the window that small? Or is there just black/transparency surrounding the walls?
