A Halloween Horror
Yea I finished mine this afternoon after two days of intense making. I still need to test it more before I submit it here but there is a download available.
Evented CBS & CMS - 2k3 vs Ace

I needed this yesterday! I was wondering why it wasn't there since you can use pointer variables for pretty much everything else.
Any links for that (supposed) update? I'm curious how that spritesheet would work.
But yea otherwise I think scripting is better for complex CMS / CBS.
This might be an unpopular opinion but I think the javascript API in MV is a lot more elegant than the older RGSS (I only have experience in XP, so maybe it was better in Ace?)

Agreed.
Also in other news I'll most likely finish on time for Polixiuhs even though it might be tight for QA. I just finished most of eventing and leftover for mapping. I just have some all that stupid glueing together the whole thing.

Say no to jumpscare, it's all from ambience.
You want a brute coming up to you slowly while it has been anticipated for the past 5 minutes.
You must build tension! Say no to jumpscares! (As mentioned before it decreases the value of your game by 99%, but meh)
Tension works well with creepy music and limited vision :D

Too bad.
I'm done with all gameplay systems in my game and have done about 2/3 of the mapping.
I'm missing everything that ties the game together though, right now it's still more or less unplayable. Based on my progress so far, I'm pretty confident I'll finish on time, but...

Yea I'm reading back on the thread and then what I wrote and I might've gotten carried away a little.

To be fair most of the games that came out during the swap event were (sometimes hilariously) bad. Quest was bad. Not much worse than literally all the other games (except for the two winners of course) that came out. I have no shame saying that the two games I made for the event were absolutely terrible. Well Space Attorney had the ending which was kind of a saving grace but I didn't make it.
I personally don't think games made in two weeks should win over games that actually had a piss load of effort, tears and blood poured into them because of pity vote. Or irony vote, which is worse, that's why some people want to vote for Trump on November 28th.
Anyways that's just my opinion and not that it's that important but I think it's disrespectful to the developers who have sometimes worked YEARS on their games given that there are tons of games on this site which are ignored and have to be dug up because there is so much noise and content. Your game got attention, don't complain.
Also I think in a Plan 9 kind of way Quest is a splendid game.
