RMN4 is here!
I have been coming to RMN for a very long time even before I was a member and I enjoyed the site and the hospitality and I am pleased with the new look its nice to see the site and the community grow over the years and I really appreciate those who contributed to keeping the community together. Thank you :)

I really like the use of light in the area and the tile set is great. I am looking forward to playing this as much as I am to seeing any more screenshots!
"Hello there!" The Dialect of a Town NPC
This is a great article Darken and I agree with pretty much everything you mentioned but what I find when playing games that bugs me is repetition? You could constantly click on a NPC and he says the same thing over and over or even explore the world and come back and yet he still says the same thing?
Maybe it is worth noting to have several pages of dialogue for an npc and switches so the banter is not always the same? just a thought.

This reminds me of FF7 the first time you arrive in sector 7 off the train. It looks really interesting!

nature of men
Gotta give MarcL credit for where it is due, it was stated that this was a competition entry for a game with no words so you have to ask yourself, how do you direct or inform players of their objectives?
What would of been helpfull is a distorted path to follow so the direction is not entirely given away, allowing players to think for themselves without the stress of walking across 300 tile maps countless times.

I really wanted to understand this game for I saw the title and screenshots and was immediately interested but with no initial instruction or direction for the opening scene, it was very difficult to become attune with the game.

You basically walk through a 300 tile map, avoid explosions that give you rpg maker game overs (meaning you have to walk through the 300 tile map AGAIN) and then get the ending.
I agree with Darken but I think there is or could be more to this game as it feels as if you are dropped in somewhere after an important scene and its as if you are suppose to know what to do after looking at a photograph of people standing infront of a house?
I would appreciate some closure on this matter.
Would anyone like to draw my characters in my game?
First Star Online 3
I made the jump from making RPG games for just myself to actually creating maps for an online rpg game which is pretty awesome for me. The game however is a 2D pixel rpg very similiar to the RPG maker styles but online.
I am currently just looking around the net for new players to join and test it out and prehaps give me feed back on some of my maps. You can find the link for the game on the website that I update for at;
