Demo version 2.1

You're sort of right about the battles being easy. Most enemies were easily dispatched just by using Attack and Critical. However, I died in my very first battle against two rats. Why? I didn't know I was supposed to equip my weapons and the lamb skin armor. In fact, I didn't even know the skins were armors at first. At that segment of the game, before allowing the player to move on, bring up some dialogue implying you should equip everything. For example, a scene like this:

Merton: There are lots of wild beasts in this forest. We cannot evade them any longer...
Maria: I suppose we'll have to use our weapons then...
Merton: Right. We should Equip our weapons now before moving on, lest we find ourselves fighting creatures in hand to hand combat. Maria, are you wearing your lamb skins?
Maria: Oh, right, I don't want to ruin my outfit! We should put those on as well!

Really simple example that would fit in perfectly with the pacing of the game up until that point, and gives the player a clue that they should equip their gear. If you're extremely unlucky, it looks like it may even be possible to get jumped by rats before you even walk the few steps to the save post. When there's the slight possibility for a random encounter to screw you that badly, you should make it a bit more obvious to equip the player's weapons and such.

I did enjoy the demo though. I didn't get to the boss yet, I just entered the city and looked around. Not entirely sure what I'm supposed to do next, but I'll probably mess around with it a bit more later. One more minor complaint is that Maria seemed to be getting completely destroyed by enemies even with the armor equipped. Maybe I should have used the defend option more often, I'm not sure. Not a huge problem since she's the mage, but it was still annoying having her get destroyed by simple enemies like rats in the very first area with battles.

Bugs/errors

In the city in the trade area, there's a glitch that lets you walk up onto a ledge you shouldn't be able to access. Not sure what causes it. Its shown in the screenshot below.

Also, when characters attack, it gets displayed wrong. For example, "Mertonattacks." There's no space between the name and the actions. This is easily fixed though. In the skills section in the database, just add a space to the front of the action. For example, instead of it reading "attacks!" in the database, it would read " attacks!" with one space in front of the word attack.

Similar to that, when you use the "Critical" skill, it displays as the character using "Fury." Not sure if that's intentional or not, but I'd change it to displaying as "Critical" just to stay consistent.

I also ran into another glitch when I tried to escape a battle. All party members were alive and when I selected "flee," it failed. That itself wasn't the problem. The issue came up when the game immediately stopped letting me do anything and started to auto escape every turn rather than allowing me to pick an action. I nearly got killed by two rats just because the game kept trying to auto run and wouldn't let me fight them after failing to escape once. Luckily I got away and didn't lose any progress though.

As for the bug about not being able to run away when a party member is dead, if you send me a link to the script you're using I could look at it and see if I can figure out the problem. No promises since I'm not exactly an expert at complicated scripts, but I can try.

Blue Gender

Minor Blue Gender spoilers ahead (mainly from the first 8 or so episodes).

I'm really not sure what you should do, though you should probably figure out what your goal is with this project before you continue working on it. Allowing such an important character like Joey to evade his death is a huge story changer, and if you're asking us whether or not you should do it then you probably have no clue what you're really trying to accomplish with this game. Figure out your goals, then make the decision.

Keep in mind, Yuji and Joey only became friends because Keith died off so early and Joey needed a new copilot. If you keep Keith around, Yuji is likely to miss a lot of his character development he got with Joey. There's also the fact that Yuji wouldn't have much of a reason to man up and fight if too many people survive. His motivation to fight came from the fact that pretty much everyone else was dead and he didn't want to be a burden.

If you think you're a good enough writer, then you could attempt it, but I think it would be difficult and you would be changing the story a bit too much.

Blue Gender

Marrend, he actually did mean "bug sprite sheets." In summary, Blue Gender is about a force of elite soldiers piloting power armor that fight against giant bug monsters that have pretty much wiped out the human population on Earth.

I know VX Ace comes with a spider and a scorpion in the RTP, but you probably want more futuristic mutant-ish kinda bugs to work with. I'll let you know if I find anything.

Blue Gender

Oh man... I'm one of those insane Blue Gender fans who will defend this anime as one of the best of all time no matter how much hate it gets.

I'm definitely going to be following this, I always wanted to see a Blue Gender game of some sort.

You probably shouldn't keep uploading all this incomplete stuff without a reason. If you upload it and say "what should I add to this map that I'm working on?" then you would get better responses. Until you actually mention that the map isn't complete, I just assume this is what you intend to put into the final game and that's why you uploaded it for everyone to see it.

Aaaand pretty much what Sana said, just fill it in with more trees and flowers and such to get rid of all that empty space.

Helper Series - Science and Magic Helper: The war of two sides

I just noticed that... lol, nice.

When does the beta begin anyway?

General Help/looking for a team

We still need to know what game engine you're going to make this with. A lot of people are probably only familiar or skilled with one or two versions of RPG Maker, so it'll help gain interest if you specify which you're going to use. For example, I only know how to use VX Ace. I'm sure the others are extremely simple to pick up (especially standard VX), but it would help gain my attention more if I knew you were using the same engine that I use all the time.

Your plot sounds alright, but it would help more if we knew what you wanted a team for specifically as well as how your game is going to play out. What's the combat system going to be like? Is it a dungeon crawler? Any special features you plan to add? And as for the team itself, do you need writers? Help designing and balancing a combat system? Need someone to make/modify a script for you? These are the of things people will want to know. We already know you need some spriting done, but nobody will be willing to do that unless they see some solid ideas for the game itself and probably some proof that you can actually deliver on making it (screenshots, more in depth explanation of the gameplay, etc).

That said, I don't think I'd want to commit myself entirely to this since I've got my own project, but I might be able to give you feedback or something if you need it, or some advice and tips from a fellow novice designer. Every bit of help counts, right?
