New guy with a couple of questions

Good to know. I know there's a few things that I would like to do with my game, I'm just not sure that they are "do-able" in rp2k3. Are the newer ones more "user-friendly" than rp2003? Trying to find tutorials on it right now is kinda sad.

I'm trying to refresh myself, but it's very overwhelming, and not a lot of info seems to exist anymore. I remember when everyone was trying stuff out on it! I guess it's just not that popular anymore. Serves me right for not keeping up with it... :)

Here's another question. rp2k3 uses the normal ATB style fights. Whe I choose an action, that bar resets to the beginning. Is there a way to set attacks to only use a portion of that or to use more so that a character can charge faster or wait longer for their attacks?

New guy with a couple of questions

Hey guys, I'm new to this site and have returned to making a game in rm2k3, trying to get back in the swing of things. I had a couple of questions to see if it were possible to do (if anyone knows off-hand).

I would like to be able to "stop" xp gain on a character until "item x" were found or used. Is this possible?

I would like to add new statistics beyond the Attack/Defense/Intelligence/Agility (I may be running with 8). Is this possible?

Should I be leaning towards the new makers or stick with rp2k3? If I need to learn something new, now might be a good time, since I can hardly remember anything of this one, and I hear a new one is coming out.

Just stopped in to say hi

Thanks for the welcome. I've been reading all of the articles that this site has to offer, and I must say here are some great ones!

Just stopped in to say hi

Hi everyone.

I thought I'd try out a site devoted to making the games that I love the most. Maybe some day mine will get off the ground... :)

For now I'll try and familiarize myself with the locale, and maybe re-learn my love for trying to create something. Talk to you all later!
