Games you hate or dislike?

I've only emulated the 2D sonic games because i didn't grow up on Nintendo, and from just about every source I've heard this was a genuinely good choice.

Know what I think was better though.

Jazz Jackrabbit, god, so fast, so furious rabbit massacre action, so great!

Rocket Knight was also hype, these two games easily trump Xargon, that wasn't as good as i remembered. I guess I was a lot easier to impress at 8.

What I do like about Xargon is it's storytelling and environments, sadly the gameplay didn't live up to what I expected and ultimately i decided to let my nostalgia for the game die.

Got a big pack of old shit I might have played in the day that wasn't DooM / Heretic, christ did I find some gems.

So i guess I dislike Xargon for gameplay reasons, if you don't know what I'm on about, think Jill of the Jungle, but way slower, and much prettier.

Random Art Topic

Did you draw the AE? It's really good.

Hm, which goofy comic that I've done of late should I link... so many options.

OH, HERE WE GO!

A bit older, and it's centered around an injoke no one here will get, but it's so aggressively stupid it has a charm of it's own. I am talking to a piece of Wood that may be my depiction of a forum member named Johnny(somestupidnumber).

I think the punchline is still something anyone here can get, even if the reason i may be talking to a chunk of termite-food perplexes you.

It was a fit of stupid brilliance wrapped carefully in a present of snide callous injokery.

My barbs are fucking legendary, to hell with what Fyori or Esperia may say! Actually Esperia didn't say much she just hung herself to save her from my idiocy. Why she didn't just kill me outright is a mystery I don't even know how to answer.

The 'evidence' says "SOMEBODY CALL ME ELF MONSTER".

Unfortunately, you assholes have to have a forum that doesn't just shrink down the picture then upscale it on demand. So my generous re-sizing of it just for you has made it practically illegible.

Good thing it's just a goofy comic that is so outrageously self-aware and self-purporting no one here is going to care anyway!

NO ONE. EVER! D:

You guys aren't going to believe this.

SAGAWIND'S STORY IS ACTUALLY DONE.

It might actually come out within the next year! :P
woah woah what?!
Add three years to every estimated completion date you see.
QFT

Some good news on my end, school has finished, and only just today, so PFC will go into full gear development tomorrow.

My moment is finally here, to work on gam mak.

Jake did a couple more radical songs.

Xiie did a redefinition of Esperia but its too WIP to show right now.

I personally have been writing much out, storyboarding all kinds of stuff for all sorts of games, the trailer for 314th Clash is one that's been on my mind lately, during the bus ride today I thought of some neat ideas for the future, while at home playing Dragomon to Black Water, I was inspired to write a speech since while Kadaj is an annoying character, that asshole can talk. Though I think the music speaks better of why it would be good for a spiel by my dimensional-anomalous future-self. It sort of yells Anarchy at my face and then shits anarchy down my throat.

I'm off, sans one innocuous feedback friday-- until late February. Lib oughta know, College breaks in Australia are exceedingly generous.

Let's work on your game descriptions!

Yay submission hapen

thanks TehGuy for your help.

Thanks Teh, I've resubmitted it again.

Boned is appealing because being restricted to only two colors means there's essentially no way it can be inconsistent. The fault most of my games possess is that several different artists work on the same thing, which can look a little messy.

Boned is all done by my mspaint hand and a bit of gimp editing. I must admit it's been fun, though surprisingly not all that challenging, working in only two colors.

@Dec: I don't have time right now to resize him, but if I do a public release I may rescale him and his parents to be of a more grown stature. Though he's already 32x48, and I do love his goofy running animation, so I may not do that.

Let's see...

I love side events featuring the main cast, or even the villains just goofing off. The Tales Of series is good for this, and Final Fantasy has its moments as well. It's nice to be able to see the characters act like real people every once in a while, and chill out at a campfire, or hot spring, or restaurant, for no other reason than they just want to. The piano practise in FFV comes to mind, as does the entirety of the Gold Saucer in FF7.
I was going to say the moments characters are charming and talk to each other but you already have me circled.

I think FFIX did it particularly well. I loved the active time events, especially when concerning the guards at the gate, gosh they were so funny at times.

- Sidequests that don't act as filler, but rather gives some back-story to your PCs or even the villains.
This is a great one. Not that all sidequests have to be this way, but sidequests that flesh out either the world, characters, or the plot are awesome and proves that you're putting in serious work.
I'm gonna jump on this bandwagon too. Heck several sidequests I implement are for this purpose. Though I also use it to explore other characters and worlds, in M:R you went off with hilarious space pirates, then ended up working for Satan and one of the Dark Seraphim (Anathema) to see what's all going on, then you're fucking dimension hopping with weird dudes in robes and fighting cats in hell and aliens on Earth and wow.

Guess what I'm saying is character-focused sidequests are the fucking best!

@Sated: Thanks for the headsup, I'll see what I can do about that.

@BM if your ever going to use the excuse that your ideas came before undertake remember this isn't a really new project. The kickstarter was live during June of 2013 and they already had the demo made.
I had talking radical skeletons in 2011 and talking flowers in late 2012, that's only as far back as I can prove. Skeletopians have been a thing I've worked with since 2003. Also I didn't know of Undertale personally until late 2014, so this point is redundant anyway.

Basically finished up on all the graphics for Boned.

I like the masochistic squirrels and the Imp Lady a lot. Here feel free to check them out.

The Bumblebee (thanks for the inspiration dookie), Skwautz (a play on SQUATS AND OATS!!!) and the Imp-lady are the bosses, with Imp-lady who i've yet to name being the final boss.

The Squirrels love falling from high distances and bleeding. They're nuts!

The Boars are completely indignant and wont move their stubbornly seated ass unless bribed with berries.

The four flowers are each different. The Flower of Sentience is Richard's vitriolic friend, not one who is actually planning to murder you. The Flower of Impatience is the 'tutorial boss' and really doesn't like Richard at all.

The third one along is the Flower of Melancholy, he's sad about pretty much everything and tends to ramble.

Then finally is the Flower of Apathy, who just doesn't care, sort of just says whatever he feels like. Hmm reminds me of someone!

What are you thinking about right now?

Australia don't. And those who do in Australia are pariahs, cast out from the populace. You know trick or treat? In Australia it's we gonna trick and 'treat' you if you come knocking on the door. Houses don't get egged and TP'd - Trick or Treaters do.
every day is scary in Australia
We've had a few trick or treaters over the last couple years. Nothing too scary about anything just gotta make sure to tell them to avoid McKlennan Rd as they may get candy in the form of knives there. That's Lismore for ya.

Since living in Brisbane we've not had many but then I slept through last Halloween and this Halloween I've been living in a quiet suburban area.

Incredibly quiet and brimming with the air of solace, it's kind of a dream come true actually, the only people who make noise are my window-side neighbors in the very rare occasion they have a bachelor party. This is at most 3 times a year.

Otherwise it's just dogs every now and then. No ratty kids or psychophant neighbors it's just really nice and calm here.

If I want excitement the city is only a couple public transport fares (and about an hour and 15 minutes of travel) away.

Submission Rules: Update - Addendum added because ffs people!

I've done it but only for game expansions, like why make a whole new Entry for Intelligence: Net-ready when Intelligence 1.1.9 is already there.

Knowing the stakes it has on new and notable I'll be sure to make a new one for PFC.
