A Game Drive Of Sorts
I'd be starting a day late but i'll try and make something. I need to get back and motivated again. Maybe this will be just what I'm looking for.
Hartacon RMXP
It'd be kind of cool to see more people online so i could actually give this a try. I'd also like to say that you should probably make your menus have less dead space / put background images on things with just a black screen. Presentation is a large part of things.
Why aren't there more tutorials on the basics?

LockeZ, not only that, but I've noticed that your game gets noticed and commented on if you can manage to pump out custom artwork every 2 days, whether it's actually related to the game or not. People sure like their artwork.
To expand on this further, a game that is Aesthetically beautiful will get noticed and commented on more than a game that might be really fun to play but just looks mediocre or worse. It's just how the RM community is.

I need the General Opinion here..

You should make it where we wouldn't have to buy them, but got them at certain intervals. Just a quick tip that isn't so hard to do.
Quest rewards / hidden item chests sound like a better option in my opinion, rather than just getting them handed to you.

If you want charas to use a specific type of weapon, why not give them access to specialized weapons for different classes, or special tiers of weapons for the different classes? This way if someone wants the chara that uses swords to do magic he won't be completely useless.

i think there is a substantial ethical difference between ripping something someone has been commissioned a busload of money to create for a commercial game and ripping something a hobbyist has created for nowt for a freeware project but that is a separate issue
Yeah, that basically sums it up for me. It's just a matter of me feeling guilty or not about something. Taking something from square who makes thousands/millions of dollars off of their work and Taking something from someone who probably won't make anything

You know, with the exception of ENTIRELY CUSTOM ASSETS (which are really a different ballpark and should not be fucked with without permission), for some reason the more someone flips out about the taking of/goes to great lengths to protect their edits, harvested resources, and whatnot the more I want to steal them, even if I never use them.
I am pretty (entirely) sure this makes me kind of a bad person but I am also pretty (entirely) sure I am not the only one who experiences this direct correlation between how protective someone is of something and how much I want to take it.
The fact that you try to make yourself act like a Grand Thief when all you do is copy-and-pasted extra wasted megabytes into your projects is, well... disgusting.
Most of your posts in this topic seem to be calling him out, you know.
Anyhow, I've never really tried too hard to track down and credit people who did rips most of the time; Sure it takes effort but in the end they're just kind of taking it from someone else, and I don't particularly feel to inclined to credit them. Edits, it really depends on the extent of the edit....for instance, changing someone's hair color? Not going to credit. Vastly changing the appearance? Yeah, I'll give credit.
Custom stuff is kind of a mess, i try not to use it. If i were going to use something custom I'd definitely attempt to get their permission first; However if I couldn't reach them, I'd use it, credit them, and then If contacted by them and asked to remove it, I'd follow through and remove it and find something else. The exception here is music, I'd never attempt to use someone elses custom music, it was made specifically for their game. I just wouldn't feel right taking it; And if I felt i really needed to use a piece, once again I would ask permission first.
